Somebody asked about a Swinger wheel loader in a thread. Someone else mentioned model 200. I googled, and somewhere among the porn I found an interesting gadget:

Apparently it's a build-to-suit company. Well, I still think I could have fun running that rig!

Just finiished LeTourneau's book MOVER OF MEN AND MACHINES. This one looks like something he would have designed and produced.

If you have interest in earth-moving equipment, I recommend the book, paper back, reads easy and is fascinating.

R.G. LeTourneau made a lot of interesting things years ago, it's ashame they sold out. Back in the 60s he made one rig to clear land it just ran over the trees. I farmed in another state but drove out to east Texas to watch it work...........

I happened to find an autographed copy at a garage sale for 10 cents . What a good read , quite the man . We need more like him running the country .

Moving Heaven and Earth is an additional book by Letourneau and is actually an earlier work published in 1956.

Both books are good and each has information the other doesn't. If you have found one interesting I suggest you get an Inter-Library Loan of the other to read.

As I recall the tree clearing machine used axe heads welding onto a rotating drum drive wheel to do the tree destruction.

Quite an interesting man with an interesting outlook on life. We could have used more men with his ideas for machines and progress.
