Hi, I am getting my 53 ford jubilee running/operating. I just aquired the tractor and have it running good now. The tractor has a lord loader on it with it's own pump that runs off the engine crank. The fluid resivoir is in the frame of the loader. I cannot find any where that tells mw what kind of fluid it run in the loader? It's empty now due to a leak. Also, I'm getting ready to change the engine oil and was wondering what is the best oil to use? someone told me to use the Rotella oil in the older engines because it still has zink in it.??? Thanks

For the loader, you can run whatever light oil you want in it. I'd run a cheaper hydraulic fluid, espescially if it has any kind of a leak where you're dumping in somewhat regularily and it is it's own complete system.

For the engine oil, I'd look for a good deisel rated oil, even if it's a gasser. Doesn't have to be rotella, but it is a popular choice.

i acquired a lord loader on a JD 2010; do you know any more about the manufacturer? company history? source for manuals?

Thanks, I don't know much about the lord loaders. We use rotella at the shop so that's what I'll use for engine oil ( free ! ) As for the loader I think I fixed the leak, but it hasen't been run in years. There was some sludge in the filter/screen that I cleaned out. I'll probably use it with the cheap fluid for a while, then change it after I know everything works and replace a few old hoses. Thanks , Jeff
