664 IH tractor ?????

Does anybody know anything about a 664 IH tractor? How many built? Are they good tractors? What is a reasonable price for a good running (diesel) tractor but kind of faded paint?

My uncle had one it was either German or industrial it had the swept back front axle. It could turn on a dime and go through anything he liked it a lot..(diesel)$2000 to $3000. It was in a fire..no longer used.tires are good lot of plastic melted and don't know if it runs...$500 St. Cloud MN.

where was the fire on the tractor? dash area or whole front end? Kinda interested if for sale, how many hours were on it estimated . Any pictures. thanks steve. looking to upgrade from a 606.

664 was a "rare" model, made until the 674 came out, I think it was back half of a 656 and D239 german engine that was also used in the 674.

I remember reading on the boards somewhere that the 664 was a LOT cheaper than the 674.

I have a 664. Basically a 656 Utility but with the 239 German Diesel engine. They had 16.9-30 tires. Very capable tractor; 5 speed + TA; kind of a bench style seat-a little higher & more to the rear. Made in 1973 (a few yet in 1974) while the 674 was being finalized. That engine set like it was had too much umph for the 74 series. 898 of the 664s, mine is the 897th. Can't locate that very last one.
