ture crime story

The post below about the Craigslist ad reminded me of this, told to me as the truth by a friend in NM. This woman was taking a bath when she heard this knocking on the door. Since she was bathing she did not go to the but then hear the crash of the door being knocked down. She held a towel around her with one hand and got a 44 magnum with the other. She found one guy going through her desk and told him to get out of her flaming house. Probably didn't say flaming. The man didn't like the looks of the 44 and left hastily, got in a pick up truck, and left hurridly. He then circled the truck back around the house, whereupon his accomplice in the house ran out and jumped in the back of the truck. The woman loosed a couple of rounds at the truck. The cops made the usual noises about how the woman shouldn't have shot at someone running away. Hopefully the cops have a truck with a bullet hole in it to look for.

I heard once about a woman who found an intruder in her house. She emptied two pistols at him and didn't hit him.

She shot up the whole inside of her house, and neighbors who heard the commotion caught the intruder running away from the house.

Women SHOULD have guns, regardless of their lack of skill with them. Better to shoot the hell out of everything than to be susceptable to ravage.

I am a STRONG proponent of the right to keep and bear arms. BUT owning a gun also carries a lot of responsibility. anyone who owns a gun and maintaines a it for self defence should be competent enough with it to be a safe handler of it and know enough not to be a danger to themselves. That also means being able to hit a person sized target from a few feet away. Anything less makes them a danger to themselves and innocent by-standers and a poster child for the gun control loby

But better yet, someone that has gun experience should take the time to help train any person that is new to guns.. No difference if the trainer/trainee is male or female..

A lady I know took the concealed weapons class, and she had the best shooting score of the entire class. Very attractive and sweet lady, but I pity the poor fool that ever tries to attack her... They will be sorry they ever bothered her..

I see these fantasies on the net all the time. Never see them in the local papers or on TV. Sometimes it's a .44 or a .357 or a .45. I used to keep a loaded pistol next to me at night, but then I realized if the 2 100+ lb dogs, and a 6 ft polock wife, didn't keep me safe, nothing would. I sleep real good. Be careful, keep the guns away from the little kids, too many tradgeies there.

I refused to buy my wife a pistol. I did however get her a 12 gage pump. Showed her how to jack a shell into the chamber and how to 'sweep the street' with the 5 rounds of #4 in the mag. I'm told 99.9% of anyone who has any brains (and want's to keep them) will beatfeet at the sound of a shotgun action. But if shots need fired....

I have told this story on here before, but I think it's funny so I'll say it again.

I work nights and when I got married my wife wanted a gun to keep close while she was home alone at night. She didn't like the handguns, just did not feel safe with any of them, shot gun kicked to hard, even my brother's old youth model 870 20ga, 22 was too small, 30-30 and 243 were too slow, she was about like Goldielocks!! Then she tried the mini 14. She liked it on the first shot and realy liked it when she figured out just how fast it would shoot. Only thing was with the open sights she did not think she could hit anything with it in the dark, so I had to hit up a few gun shows and it took a while but a buddy of mine finaly found a few boxes of tracers. I figure if something happens while I am not home, she has a 30 rd clip full of tracers at the ready, if the sound of her shuting the bolt don't turn their heads, and if she don't kill'm all I will have to do is fallow the s*** trail when she starts light'n up the night for them.

Gotta love my wife (I am scared not too!!!!) :)

Probably a cops truck. We wouldn't notifiy the local cops if we left on vacation, didn't want to get ripped off.

The key being the guy was running away :)

My wife was a good shot, but worried about where the 45 slug would go after it cleared the perps body. So we loaded up shot shells and she kept her clip full. Shot would not pass through a double sheet rock wall (so the kids were safe) but NO ONE would be stupid enough to stand there when hit with a couple of rounds of shot

My brother has our great grandfathers 10 guage double barrell shotgun. He was a marshall in the oklahoma territory in 1889. Barrel is cut down to fit in a saddle holster. So all he has to do is point and shoot.

a friend who used to be a county deputy got a call one night to go to the home of a 70 year old one who lived in a wooded area of a less than reputable community. When ho got there her front porch had 30 carbine brass laying all over it. Her son had given her a 30 cal carbine with a 30 round clip, and when a couple of prowlers tried to break in through a window she stepped out on the porch and emptied the carbine into the woods they ran into. She was standing in the doorway still holding the carbine and said she didn't know what to do. When I asked Walter what he did, his reply was "I showed her how to reload". Deputies in the Mo. hills have a different outlook than ones in New Yawk.

Down here in Texas we also teach them how to take proper care of the weapon.I know some country folks that would not think twice about stopping an intruder. Plus we have lots of land to put bodies in.
