Foam Marker

I sprayed rye yesterday with Roundup and was disappointed with the foam marker on the sprayer. The globs of foam are very small and are difficult to see. I didn't think to take a picture of the drops on the end of the boom, but they are about 2-3 inches in diameter. If they were larger, would it make bigger globs of foam? I also wondered it the foam could be colored if it would make it easier to see them? I ended up standing so I could see them. Chris

More concentrate? More air? Accumulator on end of boom good? Local CO-OP adds dye to their foam; color depends on what's being sprayed.

I've been spraying for 30 years and find that foamer boots with a sock in them works the best to get the best blobs. I have also found that putting too much soap in can be worse than not enough.

I prefer blue dye on green plants. It shows up better than the pink.

All that being said, I have gone to GPS guidance but I still won't give up foam, it just takes less foam now.
