i bought them at an auction to use as hanging weights and was curious what they actually fit.

The first thing that comes to my mind is Farmall B but the bolt pattern and center hole don't look right for a B. Jim

Sixbolt???? Would these fit inside a regular implement rim (don't have a real perspective on size) and be a generic weight for any 6 bolt rim? Back of combines would use those, etc.

:) I'm suspecting that they're Ford tractor weights. :? I'm not 100% positive, but they look awful familiar! They're small diameter and I suspect that they're the weights used on 24 inch & 28 inch wheels. :?

(quoted from post at 05:51:11 04/20/09) For what model Ford?

They should fit most if not all the blue ones (and industrial versions) I've seen them on a 9000 (looked wierd!) The wheels have 3 holes so the reason for six holes in the weights is so you can bolt another weight to the first weight with different bolts! The farm that I worked on 30 years ago used them on 4000 SU's with 24 inch wheels. We used to install 3 per wheel and on the inside of the dish so they didn't stick out beyond the tires.

They will not fit any of the blue ones, I had a pair of the 4000 and a 5000 and there is no way any thing like those would fit on those tractors, They would have to if for a Ford fit the tractors with the hatbox 28" wheel but have never seen any for those tractors except the pie weights. Currently have the weights for the blue tractors yet (could be for sale) and a 1944 2N Dad bought new in May of 44 and a 1941 9N and had a NAA and a Ferguson TO30 that had the same wheels as the NAA. The only way they could be Ford is if they are actually Ferguson and would also fit the NAA & 8N, they will not fit a 9N or a 2N

I'm going to say that they are Ford weights, too. While they won't fit "any of the blue ones", they should fit SOME of the blue ones. Ford had different hole patterns depending on cast or steel center, power adjust or manual. I'm going to say that these were intended for the 8/9000 and 86/9600. Check for a part number cast into them (raised numbers)... and check against the numbers on the NH parts website.

The 8-9000 and 8600-9600 tractors used the same style wheels as the 4000-5000 did, you can tell they were made for mounting inside a rim and it could not have been a power adjust rim to fit in like that so that eliminates any Ford tractor that I ever new except the NAA and 8N to have a wheel of that shape and the weights made for them were an axle mount weight that fit inside the fenders. To me in the picture they look to be in size more for a front wheel than a rear wheel

It is hard to get perspective from that picture, but did you notice the center hole isn't round? It has a flat, just like the weights for the 8/9000, 86/9600. (and the 8/9000 didn't use the same wheels as the 4/5000... 4/5000 had flange axles, 8/9000 had bar axles... same style of power adjust rims, but different wheel centers.) I think there should be a number like C7NN1A002E on thses weights somewhere. They look just like the ones I bought off a 8000 at a sale.

They WILL bolt to the wheels on the BLUE tractors!!! We used them on pressed steel discs, but they would go on cast discs also! That's the reason for the flat place in the center hole, to clear the clamps on the bar axle! I am including a picture of the wheel on my 5610 with 18.4 x 30 tires, you will see 3 square holes in the disc at 12, 4 & 8 oclock. those weights should bolt on using those holes! I will agree that the weights are NOT the ONLY weights made for Fords, there are also larger diameter weights for the larger wheels, but I think that you will find that the bolt pattern is the same on both style weights!

One other thought, Those weights will probably NOT work on 9, 2 & 8N's or NAA's because the discs are not equiped with holes to attach them. The pie weights attach to a disc bolted to the tractor with special lug bolts that hold the wheel on AND have a provision for the original lug bolts to thread into them to secure the pie weight disc! ( I had a set of pie weights on a '72 3000).

The same weights I have would fit those other axles as well, just wish I knew how to post pictures as I can still see no way those weights could ever fit any of the ford tractors.

 Leroy, Trust me on this! I've been there, done that! See the explanation and picture in my last post! If I get a chance, I will take pictures of them installed on a blue Ford, and post the pictures here! :?
