Post a message

What are the 10 best reason for posting a message on this forum(tractor)? I can think of lots on topic, off topic. What are your personal reasons?

Living over here is great but folks have a little different attitude about some things. Not a lot of Tinkers and Fixers unless you get ahold some of the folks that were from the former East Countries (then, the language barrier sucks).. If something is broke, folks either take it to be fixed or call someone to come fix or replace it. I do most everything myself and sometimes don't know how to ask the locals for help in a way that they'll follow what I mean (language barrier). I can come on here and ask my questions and get answers from folks that understand what I mean. I can take the info and fix my problems or translate the info with the help of my wife in order to get what I need locally. It's also intertaining to see folks post about something and have some idiot start preaching the Bible to them and throw off the whole topic. I get more out of the off topic posts sometimes because I only have one tractor and (knock on wood) it doesn't give me much trouble.

I come on here for a good smile. Sometimes I ask a real tractor question and get good info, but mostly I try to do that in the specific forums. And every now and again I will throw in a God reference. Hey, he needs his due credit!

just to take a break from web porn.

No seriously, I don't think there is a better place on Earth to get advice and real life experience than from guys that frequent this site. Any question you have gets an answer, usually from someone that has done what you are doing.

I love this site. I grew up on a small 70 acre farm in Colorado and my grandad farmed along with my dad. My grandad had to give it up at age 67 from Emphasema and could not breath, passed away 3 years later. My dad died 4 months after his dad with cancer at age 42. Although we stayed on the farm, my mother always rented it out. I have my Paternal grandads 1941 Farmall M, My Dads 1948 John Deere D, and my maternal Grandads 1948 Case D and have aquired others along the way to include a 1944 Case S, 1942 Case V, 1942 Farmall H, 1948 Farmall Cub, 1951 John Deere AR, 1949 JD D and last but not least a 1938 Allis B
I only have one restored and pall the others I mentioned run, I also have several parts tractors I have gathered up for the above.
Although I have so many good memories of growing up on the farm, I love the info I learn by reading the posts daily on this site. I try tp print and build a catalog for each of my tractors as some day this info will be gone forever.
I post questions once in a great while and most may think they are simple questions, but always happy for help I recieve. This site to me is like my wife when she goes to mall or gets hair done etc.

Sometimes this place makes me think I'm in the company of a bunch of Ph.D.s & it's all I can do just to keep up with the reading. Lots of out-of-staters here, you know:)

I come into this forum, although its been almost 50 years since I did any actual farming. for the fellowship between all you fine folks.

Some topics, though you think may be O/T gets to be discussed in a few Grange meetings.

The technology is so much different now than in the past but the interest is still for you all that farm .

Yes it takes tractors, but other needs is involved also.

Grange members are like carrier pigeons to take your problems through Local,State and National levels.

Yes I admit I mostly post O/T because farming is now more difficult than planting a seed and hope you get a crop.

You now have other problems as well with the Government people telling you can't use manure cause of runoff into creeks.

If I see an O/T post that can be discussed for your welfare , it will be .

I feel if tractors is your only life, you aint got much.

We wouldn't know each other, and our other problems wouldn't get addressed, including personal prayers.
