OT Does anyone have plans to build a small threshing drum

Does anyone have plans for a small thresher drum?

I am running some small fertilizer plots on my farm and want to build a small thresher drum to separate grain in wheat and barley. I have found that hand threshing is hard work! The plots are way too small for harvesting with our JD8820.

I have seen plans somewhere, but can not remember where. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't know if any are still left in your part of the world, but an old pull-type combine might work for you. Even if the cutter head portion doesn't work, you can always fork the grain into it. Just a thought. Good luck with your project.

I agree, if you could find an old pull type AC 66 and just scoop it in.

Thanks for the replies.

I have been looking for a small pull type combine (we called them headers) for a while for the job. There used to be plenty of them around. With high scrap metal prices a couple of years back, most seem to have gone into scrap.

I am still looking, or I will build something.
