caseIH 8940 Inching Pedal

I have a 8940 when you release the inching pedal or clutch the pedal does not return to the normal up position. If you click into another gear after you release the clutch the pedal does return to the up position. If you push in the clutch and release it with the tractor in park it does return to the up position. The clutch cable seeems OK because wouldn't it bind if you released it with the tractor in park? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Could be just a weak return spring. They are a very heavy spring but have had to replace some.

Take the cable loose at both ends and see how hard it moves.The cable wears out inside the hsg and will move hard.With it loose you can then check the pedal pivot for stiffness.Good luck.
