Hauling manure pics

I hauled some manure over the weekend in Southern Wisconsin. I have lots left to haul but I have got a good start. Got some help from the "little helpers". They helped me clean out the barn I built to house their two calves the will get each year to raise and their two goats that are a major pain but are "untouchable" if you know what I mean. I could have got the job done much faster without help but they really like to "work" on the farm which is great. My dad put up with me helping when I was a kid. Hope the pics work.

Great to have your helpers out there. If you make them wait till they are 14 or 15, they probably won't be much help then. Enjoy the time with them, before you can blink they will be all growed up and too busy to help. Chris

The pictures of your little helpers are a bright spot on a cold, cloudy day. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your time with your kids, it's gone all too soon.

Christopher

Always enjoy the pics.

Yes, you could have finished much faster without the "little helpers", but the memories you made will last a lifetime.

Wanna come clean my barn?!!!

I didn't have such great luck trying to haul yesterday. I tried to clean up out in the field where the round bale feeder are. Didn't have any problem loading, but I couldn't get the load out through the gate. Sank the spreader, had to unload right there,so now it's a bear to get in with a bale to feed them. Couldn't get the loader back out that way,had to pull it out backwards through the mud through another gate.

Just one of those days where you end up worse off than you started.

I was out hauling easter after lunch. Had the JD 50 hooked up. The chain wasn't moving, so I brought it back into the yard, but not without finding the wet spot of the field. Sunk her down to the rims. Got the f-i-l to come out with the Farmall M. We got her out and the M died. So we pulled started her with the 50 and all is good now. I'll have to wait till this next weekend to finish spreading.

We started hauling Mon. afternoon and cleaned up around the roud bale feeder.I ran the highlift and the wife ran the spreader for a few trips then switched off with my dad when our 6 yr. old girl got cold. Then uncle and cousin came over with another spreader and we ran two till 8:30 or so.Used to do it with my grandpa and this is the first year we have to do it without him.Just isn"t the same, but it is still my favorite time of year. Can"t wait to start turning sod.One other thing, that cow manure smell is the sweetest smell on earth in the spring(can"t convince the other half of that though.)
