An intereswting find,1240 JD 4 row corn planter,237 mounted ear corn picker and case 4 bottom plow all low acres - in a fallen down shed. Will have to dismantle shed to recover and minimize damage.Any ideas for price of equipment?

Not much. The way I see it, the planter and picker are wide row. (38" approx) Nobody does that any more. Nobody plows any more. Very few people pick ear corn anymore. I wouldn't give a dime for the whole thing. The shed is worth more than the machinery for firewood. EXCEPT. Do you have a need for that equipment for your own use? If you have a small farm you can't afford to go out and buy modern equipment. If that's the case, it should do you just fine. Or, maybe you can find a small hobby farmer who needs it.

I posted pic of an IH mounted picker last week, think it was a 237. It's int the implement photo section Fella paid $275 (unless he was fibbin to me) for the picker and sheller attachment. It was shedded and near field ready condition.

Went back and looked at my photos. The one I posted about was an IH 234. Sorry, I should have checked myself. Sometimes my fingers start typing before my brain is engaged.

that stuff's wort GOLD! hasn't been built for 50 years & too many people around with Bill's attitude, been destroyin it for decades, all just to get their hands on that high-priced scrap $, ha ha usually cost more to butcher n deliver than its worth in weight. rare & priceless. can still make money with it or feed a family if u dont farm half the county like most farmers nowadays. organic guys & hobby farmers always looking for it. ear corn is coming back in niche markets too.

in this area, corn snappers are very expensive because of people buying them to snap deer corn. I've been looking for one to pick ear corn to feed cattle, but they are too expensive. Also, 2 row planters go really high for hunters planting food plots. We have an old set of Massey Ferguson 39's that we are thinking about selling because we use 4 row Cole planters now.
