Water in tires

Anyone ever fill front tractor tires with water to increase the weight on the front? If so, what is the best way to do this?
 
Front tires can be ballasted just like the rears. The easiest way to do it is to remove your tires and wheels and take them to a shop that does it.
 
The small tires you have on that B will not add much weight to the front of that tractor. I would say only about 50lbs or so. If it where me I would find a way to hang a weight or 2 on it

That flat proof foam make good front tire ballast. The stuff must weigh 3 times what water does. No flat tires either.
 
Water only weighs 8.34 lbs per gallon. I doubt if you would get a gallon in one of those tires.

I would add weights instead
 
My dad put chloride in the front tires of our old R john deere so he could turn corners when doing field work. Does the same as chloride in the rears. When he traded it off for a 4010 it still had the chloride in the fronts. Bud
 
when i got my 1030 case, the fronts were filled with calcium chloride plus it has the front wrap-arounds on it too. the valve stems leaked and rusted the rims out. them dang tires must weighed 100 pounds a piece though! the tires are 10.00-16s though. i would assume it would work but work better on larger tires. you'd have more weight there.

From other posts I am guessing the size in question might be a 5:00 X 15" so will start with those figures for proper mixing of calcium.

5:00 X 15" Water only 24# and 2.88 gal; CACL2 5.5# with 2.6 gal of water for 27.1# per tire

6:00 X 16" Water only 48# and 5.76 gal; CACL2
10.9 # with 5.3 gal of water for 55.0# per tire

7:50 X 16" Water only 75# and 9.0gal; CACL2
17.1# with 8.3 gal of water for 86.1# per tire

Chart does not go larger than the 7:50 X 16 in a 16" but goes to a 7:50 X 18 and a 7:50 by 20 front wheel and 24 for rear wheel.

Uncle had the fronts filled on his TO 30 Ferguson to balanse the weight of his 3 bottom plow on his hills
