i am looking for were i can find to buy a coupling tool. what this tool does is pull the too coupling togather because when there is pressure on the lines it pulls them togather very easy it is sorta like a vice grip that hooks on both lines and pulls them togather
need your help.
Jack

Saw your post yesterday, but have no idea what you're talking about. Never seen such a thing.

Why is there pressure in your lines? The line coming from your pump should only have pressure to it if your tractor is running and the valve is open. On your implement the pressure would only be there if you have collapsed the cylinder, so you just need to crack open a fitting some where to relieve the pressure in the line and you can get the coupling together.

there always seems to be presure on lines and i am to old to get them togather
someone said that they make a brakeaway tool to pull them togather

Your are RIGHT jalk. Some outfit DID make a tool like you describe years back. I'm going to dig through some old catalogs of farm odds and ends and see if I can find one, and get the brand name.

thanks Bob i could releice the presure but then here is all the oil as the implement drops
this tool was very simple like a vice grip
or lever action.plese let me know

Andy you have it backwards. With older tractors and implements they made rods to hold the implements up then you would lower to the stop to relieve pressure so you could unhook and hook up with no pressure in the lines. So the implement would be in the up position with a stop and have no pressure and even if you dropped the implement all the way down there wouldnt be any pressure in the lines

Maybe you can make one. Get you a pair of welder's vise grips that have the flat plates on them for gripping steel plate. Then cut some notches in the plates to fit your connectors. If you need more spread, try a couple channel locks on each side or weld a couple notched plates to some channel locks. Or some kinda of U channel behind each connector with a couple long bolts to draw them together.

Sounds like you have dirt or something blocking the drain/ return line..that's why it seems like there's pressure on it..bleed it off and clean the couplings.. check them to be sure you can couple them and un couple them with NO load and the retry it...Charles

Get your Shoup cat. from Kankakee, Il. They have pioneer push/pull couplers with on/off levers to couple/uncouple under pressure and they are color-coded and come complete with dust covers. They work just as good as the style on later style tractors and unlike a tool they can't be lost or loaned out!!! Armand

they are to much money when you have to meney
tractors as high as $250.00 each.so that can be $500.00 for each tractor
thank you for the info.

I'am with rrlund on this as far as your problem. There are only two excuses for having pressure on your lines,(1)Sun heating the lines up,(easy to bleed off)(2)Line being accidentally being pulled loose. The rest are man made such as unhooking with implement being raised with out stops being in place. As someone else said Pioneer makes a good Valved coupler,as far as money(that is your call),from the early 70s till 2002(still have on three tractors) we had 15 sets of after market(Seymours)on all of the main tractors because of their ease of operation.Sorry to maybe sound cruel but I will admit there are(or were) some user unfriendly couplers out there which you may need to change or find out WHY you are having pressure on your lines.Your call and good luck.

Thank all of you for all your feed back it has all been very informative and usefull to me
thanks again
Jack
