I need to travel north from Dubuque to Eau Claire to pick up a tractor. On a map site it shows 61, 27, 94. Is 61 and 27 four lane? Decent road to travel with a gooseneck? Any suggestions?
Thanks

If you don't mind going a little further and you want to take 4 lane roads, take 151 to Madison and then I-94 to Eau Claire.

61 & 27 are NOT four lane and are kind of hilly (as marlowe said). Have you thought about 35 (Great River Road) & then 53? Of course, then, you'd have to drive through LaCrosse, which you may know is city driving. Flip a coin?

61 and 27 are two lane but 18 wheelers run them everyday when you get to Blackriver Fall jump on 94 to Eau Clair You won't have any problems. Bob

i am not that familiar with 61, but 27 from westby to black river falls is fairly straight, and there are some hills.

i would suggest hwy 35 to lacrosse and then 53 to 93 north. hwy 93 is the quickest way from eau clair area to lacrosse, and is usually the way i take when going to lacrosse from eau claire. once you get to eau clair, take 94 east to the 53 by pass to pass around eau claire from there you can get on 29 east or west or more north to chippewa falls or beyond.

Thanks, guys. Was hoping 61 was 4 lane like in IA. 61 and 27 are almost a straight shot from our starting point and we considered the Madison route but knew it was WAY out of the way.
Thanks again.
