From the Diesel Additives earlier....

When using 2/cycle oil does it make a difference if it is part synthetic? Or should it be
non-synthetic. Had been using Scat oil that I have had for years but I used it up.
Thanks, Dan

Why don't you just feed it some Power Service (or equivalent) or now that the bitter cold season is behind us, a little biodiesel?

but it seems that the 2 cycle oil makes things sound and work better. And I have a guy that bought some other items at a going out of business sale and they threw in a full pallet of 12 quart cases (30 cases)of semi-synthetic 2/cycle oil that he'll give me. If it will work I can't beat the price. Power service is good too. Later, Dan

Semi synthetic should be OK but you shouldn't mix conventional and full synthetic. On high performance 2 stroke motorcycles, you can use conventional or synthetic but they recommend that you run them out of gas and/or drain the gas tank before switching. Dave

Dan, what make/model/year are we talking about? 07 and newer car or light truck, DO NOT under any circumstance add oil to the fuel. You will plug the DPF quickly. If the engine has an EGR valve, over time you will clog it too.
