i live about 23 miles from binghamton. it sure is a sad situation. details are still sketcy, but the civic assn deals with a lot of immigrant people.
binghamton is in a decent area. usually, the biggest story of the day is somebody's house burned down, a wreck on one of the interstates, or the most recent layoffs.

Friend of mines' wife had the event of her life scheduled for tonight in Binghamton.
This is so disgusting because here were people trying to do it the right way. Here legally- learning English, trying to assimilate.

I was just sort-off kidding my wife about not wanting to go to Binghamton because of the crime there and the various thugs running around. She's been trying to get me to go with her and our little kid to the zoo they have there. We're about 70 miles away. Never had any killings here in my imediate and rural area, but there is one farmer missing, and his son is supected of doing him in.
My comments were general ones since, on a relative scale for this rural area, Binghamton is the hot-spot for crime. Now, maybe I've got a better acuse not to go?
I don't have any fondness for any mass killings, but I feel particularly bad for these folks if they were studying for their citizenhip papers. News has been kind of sketchy, so far.

During last night’s news they commented that this type of [GUN-PLAY] has become the "signature crime" in the U.S. This had me thinking, yah know, we have just a fraction of the worlds population and we sure have a lot more of these shootings than the rest of the world. Why is this?
