Ford 7310 loader quick-tach

I am at the point I need a set of forks on my tractor. I would like to get a quick-tach so I can use the universal skid-steer mount. Local NH dealer says $2500 from NH.

Thinking I may look for a skid-steer salvage yard.

Anyone use the bolt on forks that attach to your bucket? They look like they would really stress the bucket.

Any ideas.

Thanks,
Rick

Check out www.guestindustries.net they have forks that will fit your bucket requires welding three brackets on top of bucket. Don

Horst Welding or Horst Loader Attachments (HLA) builds what you want. I bought one from them 3 or 4 years ago though my loader was a 7410. I wasn't happy with the fit on the 7410... and right on this plate it states that it's for a 7310. I don't know if the geometry is the same or not. This one was somewhere between 6 and 700 at the time. Probably a grand or so now.
What you NEED to be AWARE of is that while these adapters will pin onto your loader and convert it to a universal skid steer attachment system, IT DOES NOT MATCH SKID STEER LOADER ARM GEOMETRY properly so you will probably find that you need a blocking kit on your bucket or forks to get the correct rollback angle. That was the main problem I had.
I already had various skid steer attachments for my skid steer so I wasn't adding a blocking kit to those attachments... thus I cut the HLA adapter to pieces and rebuilt it with the correct geometry for my 7410 loader.
Just be aware of that fact if you order one from them.
I had considerable discussions with them on the subject at the time and their sugestion was that I send it back to them if I wasn't happy with the product...
I figured it was easier and less risky to hack it apart and make it fit correctly than it was to risk playing the 'freight game' with them and then have to buy materials and build one anyway. Through some arguement with my dealer I ended up getting an adjustment on the price, but I don't believe he did...

It is well made otherwise and I'm happy with it in that respect, but rather sour on the company. Mabey they changed their design by now so that it doesn't need a blocking kit...
Bolt on forks will destroy that bucket and not lift very much. Leave them alone.

Ok, I have done a fair amount of work on this subject, so I will give you my opinion. I was in the same boat a while back. My local Case dealer has used quick attachs that they remove from machines that the owner wants a whole new quick attach. I bought one, refurbed it the best I could, and build new mounts for on my loader. It was a ton of work, and the mount locations are very critical. I wouldnt do it again. Fast forward 3 years....I bought a NH skidsteer with an old style quick attach. NH wanted $2500 for a new style quick attach so I looked into aftermarket. Horst and ATI (www.preseeder.com) both sell very high quality durable mounts. My dealer quoted me around $1600.00 for one. Another company you can google is "skidsteer solutions". They also sell them. I ended up buying my adapter from www.hayspear.com. The adapter was well made, but did lack a few things. The linkage for the locking pins was a little sloppy, and only the locking pins are greasable. None of the other linkage is greasable. Overall it isnt for a contractor who will use the loader every day, but for the average part time farmer it will be just fine. I gave $750 shipped to my door for mine...

Thanks for all the companies and the input.

Just need to figure out which one I need.

You need a really good bucket with a thick cutting edge to mount forks on but then the load is too far out front. Why not just make a pin on fork adaptor? It's not that hard to change from bucket to forks. Dave

Is the 7410 on a TV140? Thats the only machine I know of that a 7410 was used on.

This one is on a 3930. The most prominent use of the 7410 that I know of was on FWD series 10 and 30 tractors up to the 76/7710.
I dind't know they were ever used on the TV's.
