Tractor related tax protest

Going to the tax protest on the 15th at our state capital.

Looking for good slogans or statements for a protest sign.

I was thinking of having a white poster board with Pictures of Farmall M's, my favorite tractor.

How many nicely restored M's could I buy with $25,000?

4 or 5?

White sign with pictures of 5 shiny M's and a slogan of "Here's what I could do with my tax money".

Guess only tractor people could fiugre it out though.

Ideas?

Don't know how the media coverage is out there but the tendency is towards portraying farmers as ignorant hicks. It was not always that ways and a few media outlets still care as far as being open minded on farm issues. I can still remember the Washington DC tractorcades of the 1970's and how those were received.
By all means, have the protest but make sure the messengers do not obstruct the message. These reporters like finding the loose cannon of the group and then tear the whole thing down. I like the idea of the M but maybe leave the dollar amounts out. Without your complete message, people may get the wrong idea about 25000 dollars and most of the time people do not bother getting the full story. I will try to think of a good slogan and post if I come up with something good.
I just get tired of good causes/ issues getting poor press.

You need to be a real 8astard and shoot your mouth off and make statements like:

Barack external_link is a Socialist pig!
Barack external_link is the Anti-Christ! (I think he is)

Barack external_link hates Jesus!
Barack external_link hates white people!

That would make things interesting.

How about somebody in a sombrero or a turbine with a slogan something like "the future source for YOUR food" or something?

Gene, I work there. Can't go TO the protest, of course. Hadn't heard about the shindig. Is this in the rotunda or outside?

Gene, Tax Protest Day is a popular event in the Legislature. You could write your senator and representative about your planned trip to the Capitol, and your mission, and wear a suit. With a little luck one of them will formally introduce you as an Ag Businessman to the assembled legislators and enter your name and mission in the Journal. At the very least you will get a nice noncommittal form letter.

Well, the grandaughter is my primary idea, was open to others. Tried to make this post tractor related to appease the purist. And by the way, everything I do can in some way be traced back to farming or tractors.

or better yet "Honk if YOU are paying MY mortgage". That one should get you a finger or two (for God's sake I would hope it would).

What tax protest are you talking about? Am I living in a vacuum? I went up to Jeff City about 4 weeks ago to talk to my Reps about some Pro-life issues and it was a good trip all the way around.

An outfit has been having them all over the US and have been talking about a big showing in each state capital.

Not sure of who is putting it together.

If I find out any thing I'll let you know.
