O. K. Ohio is reducing the state wide extension staff. How many of you use extension? We lost our agent several years ago and no complaints. Now they want to take our 4-H agent and that has everybody up in arms. And we have no say in it. Welcome any and all comments. Thanks. J.

Yes, they have reduce the staff at our extension offices and have set them up a regional offices fortunate for us, our county is the regional office. Our agents do double duty already as farm service and 4-H adviser. We have a well developed county fair program with adult committees that run the programs which will help with shortage at our county fair.

We use our extension office quite a bit, for a number of services. Also 4-H is pretty big here. Full time 4-H person. (Michigan)

Our extension office is going strong. I was only in 4H for a couple of years as a kid, and haven't kept track of it.

It took me about two years to figure out that when you were showing cattle or hogs at the County Fair, if your last name wasn't one of three popular local last names you were wasting your time.

I use the Ohio line quite often and enjoy the cources that are offered. The courses have been regional in nature for some time.

Ever since Gary G. left Clermont there has not been tha big a push for new programing and community out reach.

I guess it always depended on the ambission of the individual agent.

I'd just as soon our extension closed up completely. They don't do anything for agriculture except have the pesticide applicator test, and they chase people away from the county fair at every opportunity. Lee
