OT-What's it worth ford rollback?

I have a chance to buy a 1993 ford superduty truck with the 7.3 powerstroke,5 speed,and a 19ft
kilar aluminum rollback bed.It has a wench and rear hitch.It only has 6500 miles and looks like new.The truck belonged to an older man who bought it to haul his antique tractors around,and soon after he bought it he developed health problems. It mostly sat in his garage covered up with blankets.Any ideas? Thanks.

That is a tough one to price but I would give about anything they were asking for it! Half of new?

Be sure you know what your buying,'93 year model is before the powerstroke engine debut. Likely it has the old IDI 7.3, it could possibly have a factory turbo, they done that for a while before the PS came in late 94. Sounds like a hecka truck it's going to bring some good money. I'd say $18-20k.

I agree with the others that it is tough to get a real price.

Be sure to check fuel lines, test drive throughly, look for heavy rust underneath, check the transfluid for water, (those E40D trans missions were junk too BTW).

Be careful--------I dunno, Offer him $15k maybe.

Are you sure it only has 6500 miles, it could have been very well taken care of and have 106500 miles on it. Most odometers went past 100k miles back then I think.

I didnt see that it was a 5 speed stick.

That was a very good trans, the automatic was junk.

Truck is probably worth $15K.You may want to check into insurance and DOT issues before stroking a check.Alot of small roll backs sitting now because of weight restrictions,tag prices and insurance.We used to run ours on a farm tag hauling small tractors,hay,straw and equipment,until they changed the licencing regulations,now the "towing and equipment" tag is almost $2k a year,and another $2k for insurance.

Personally, I wouldn't pay anywhere near $15,000 because its so old. I really don't think I would want to pay more than $10,000 and most likely the owner wouldn't want to sell it for that, but thats ok, I'd simply walk away and let him find someone else to pay out a lot of money for an old truck.
