Lahman skid steer questions

Dad got this little loader last year and it has worked well until this winter. It drives good but the loader hydraulics have been getting slower and slower. Is there two hydraulic pumps or just one that runs both the drive and loader functions? It sounds like it is getting air in the hydraulic system, but the drive end of it works good and does not chatter. There are two small square plates by foot feet, are these access doors or is there something bigger to open up and see whats going on in there? Thanks for any help.

Your hydraulic filters are under those plates.

You could start by changing them.

There is only one pump.

Make sure the linkage in your pedals is not wore to where it is not fully engaging those valves.

Ran one of those things for 20 years and never had any hydraulic problems other than filters and that air cooled motor. Went thru 3 motors in the 20 years.

I may still have the manual. I would have to check the shop to make sure if you are interested in having them.

Thanks for the info, i will get filters ordered for it, and try to get those doors open. Is that where you ad the oil and where do you check the level? I don't think its the linkage because the lift, tilt and grapple all move slow and chatter, but i will check for sure. It drives good and has good power, so i think the pump is good. It has an almost new engine and he got a spare rebuilt engine with it at the auction sale, he spent more than he would have like to but he got the loader, tine bucket, grapple bucket, homemade cab, and rebuilt engine for 2500. If you are interested in selling the manuals pm me on the cowboard and i will give you my address. Thanks again for the help.

Just remembered some of the early Lahmans had steel lines and they would crack and catch air.The hydraulic lines are all down in the reservoir. I replaced mine with rubber to avoid the cracking from vibration.

Just keep the oil about and 1" or 2 above the base of the filters and that will be enough. Fill thru those plates above the filters.

They are a very simple machine.

That looks like the perfect machine to decpitate yourself on or crush your hands. Did it used to have side screens on it? I'd sure want some. Dave
