OT 4.3 Chevy problem

I know...another one.

Alright Chevy gurus..I need a little advice. 2005 GMC pickup with 75K miles. Ran like a top until last week. Check engine light came on and it would die then run fine then die again. OBDII codes show cyl 1 misfires, cam positioning sensor, as well as host of other sporadic codes. Replaced distributor cap and rotor. Still the same. Fuel pressure test is good. When it first started this problem you could remove the breather filter and move the two little wires at the top of the coil and could recreate the stumbling and dying out. Now it won't fire at all. The wires on the coil look stressed to me. Did Chevy have issues with wiring harness connections under the hood? Thanks for listening..Dave

try changing the plug wires many times it's the coil wire. I think those were prone to ignition switch problems that could cause a intermittent running problem. The coil could be breaking down also by the mention of moving the coil wires it recreated the problem you may have moved the coil spark wire and recreated it. Try pulling a wire off something else for a sec. and see if it will work

Stockdale I have seen this alot replace the conector at the coil with a new pig tail from
your chevy dealer .

Check to see if the coil wire is cross firing to a heater hose or somthing like that Mine would spark right to a dry heater hose and cause multiple cylinder misfire
