IMT Tractors

Is there anyone out there that has first hand knowledge of the IMT tractors. I have a chance to buy one that is virtually NEW. I know they were made in Beograd, Serbia and there is a parts dealer in Pa. This tractor is a 539. I know they are odd-balls, but I can get this tractor CHEAP, and I know cheapest is NOT always the least expensive. Thanks

i think mike said it great, no matter how much you polish a terd its still a terd. thats funny mike. i like it.

I heard that they are old pattern Masseys. They are a few of them around, haven't heard anything bad except people were suspicious of their origin, something like Ursus or Ebro tractors.

It is a copy of a massey ferguson 35. Some of the parts will interchange with one. Except you will have to use metric bolts. Like for example, if you replace the lift cylinder, be sure and use domestic bolts to install it.

When it was nearly new, I considered an American Motors Maditor cause it was cheap. Well they stayed cheap and most of them were abanded at about 10,000 miles as they came to a casual stop in a puddle of their own brake fluid.

Good tractors aren't cheap and cheap tractors aren't good. At least that's what I tell my potential customers.

I think it could be a decent unit. It was built under a MF license, that must mean something.
