Guys one and All,
Last part of last week we had basically 4 in of rain area wide. First real rain in over 18 months! Any way I was over in Temple Texas today and the Mesquite Trees are in full new leaves. The last trees to leaf out here are Mesquite and Pecan The Mesquites seldom ever get snookered By late frost so it is safe to plant tomatoes and peppers now, So the old timers tell,, Guess I am closer to being one now than not @ 52.
Spring is marching northward as we speak. you boys in the upper latitudes just hold on a short while still it will be knocking on ya'll door just right shortly.
The local Corn Farmers finished up corn planting last week just ahead of the rain we got.

Yes winter is over in the south. You can tell because the pecan trees are now getting leaves.

Everyone around here has their gardens planted and the sugar growers have been cleaning up their rows and discing the fallow fields.

Get ready it is sure to be a long hot summer and we will be praying for Oct before you know it.

Sure, rub it in. We just had another foot of snow. After how cold it's been around here this winter, the ground is probably frozen solid 4 feet down. Temperature went down to -22 degrees Celcius last night. And the first day of spring is tomorrow.

Seriously though, I'm not complaining, and it's good to hear that someone is getting some nice weather and moisture in an area that sounds like you really need it. Maybe if everyone in Texas could get together and exhale really hard in the northward direction, spring would arrive a little earlier.

I think its done for here too...
