Government just anounced a "Feed-In" Tariff for "Green Power". Rather outragous numbers.
It's pretty much socalism, political correctness and pandering to special interest groups.

I saw this a while back. How to make your own wind generator from PVC and a treadmill motor. Nothing that's going to power your house of course, but still pretty neat.

Harnessing the wind to generate your own power needs is indeed feasible. Trying to power up the entire country with the wind is impossible.

There is enough wind to power the whole country, problen is transportation.
