Oil for 730 JD

I have a JD 730. There are many new oils on the market not available when the 30 series was in production. I still use my 730 for light use. Is is wise to use a synthetic, multi-viscosity oil in my old 730?

Thank,

Mike

Multiviscosity oil, synthetic or regular is fine. It might be better to look for an oil with lots of slip additive for the cam shaft, and diesel oils fit that requirement. The lastest gas engine oils are short of slip additive.

I wouldnt use synthetic just because of the expense. For diesels I always 15-40 Rotella, made for diesels anywho.Thats what Ive used in my diesels for yrs. Hoss
