How many of you guys have dish network or some other sattalite service and get the Lifetime movie channel. Ever notice that when Mama sits thru a few hours of the programming on that type of channel, how mean and gnarly she is? Or how incompetant and inadequate you are? I've noticed that for years but recently read about a study that verifies my suspicions. Hows the best way to draw the line between that fantasy world and the real world without tearing the dish down?

Aw,man you've got trouble,can you tell her you are thinking about cutting costs and just get the entry level dish programs that would not include lifetime.....

My solution....prove to her that you aren't like them Lifetime/Oxygen type shows. So while she is watching them, make the necessary moves/choices to prove you aren't like one of those portrayed in the shows. Bring her coffee, give her a back rub, fold the laundry, do some vacuuming. Ya never know....you might just get rewarded for it! wink - wink Well either that or you'll have a clean house, folded clothes and a mama wired on coffee too! grin

That is the man hater channel, along with a few of the other channels and shows that are on.

To make here feel in her place.......Just have her sleep with you and all will be right.

Lock it out and tell her it went off the air.
You can lock out any single channel that you want to.

lifetime is on the lowest payment plan available for dish. I wish I could get rid of that and get rfdtv. Used to have rfd, but now I'd have to pay more. Too bad I couldn't trade all the home shopping channels for it!

Mine watches the damn "Remodel the house 53 different ways for only $150,000" shows, then starts in about what we NEED to do to the house.

im in the same boat here its either the remodel, done by the totaly cluless actor or chick flick, man hater channel, however there is a get even i found, on the speed channel at 5;00 am, they have monster truck racing, during the week works better than a alarm clock she wakes right up, i tell her i just have to watch them at that time of the day as chores are next, lol

I just wish I could get my wife to understand why I don't want to watch that stuff with her. I don't care what she watches on her TV/satellite receiver in her sewing and crafts room. But I don't want chick flicks on in the family room where I am somewhat of a captive audience.

Those shows are all the same and so predictable...a smart gal comes up with some sort of problem and is able to come up with a way to make everything OK, and then she lives happily forever and ever. Yeccch!

I love my wife and in general, we have a very happy life together. But she IS A WOMAN. And I have come to believe that women just plain think differently than men. So if she turns on that crap, I just get up and leave the room. Much easier, and better for me, than having a disagreement about it. Good luck!

You got it right when you called that stuff "programming". Personally, I have litte use for any television at all. And I guess it is fortunate that my wife has an even lower regard for it. If she sits down to watch anything, she will either fall asleep or get up and do something else.

why is it if program is something she wants to watch she does?
when it's something i want to watch we hear all kinds of b thing about it or she calls someone on phone and talks over tv. if i offer to go to aonther room she gripes about that too"we never do anything together anymore" .

If you counted the tv shows I like to watch on your fingers, you'd have a whole lot of fingers left over. We don't have cable or a dish or anything. Waste of money for us. Stuff on tv is so trashy, if I have spare time, I fool around on the computer.

If you have dish network you can get RFDTV via al cart. I have the lowest package with dish network NO RFDTV but I called them and added it for a additional $1.99 month. You can"t bet that. If you don"t have it then call them and add the channel for $1.99 a month.
It is one of the view channels you can add without having to have the expensive packages..
