Works out to about $3450 per chute. Given some of the requirements of the military that might not actually be too far off. Of course I have no clue what a regular parachute costs but....

That comes out to only about $1 per square foot of parachute. Seems like a bargain to me.

A civvie chute cost 2K+. These are much bigger, for cargo. I sure wouldn't want a cheap chute.
