John Deere 830 2 cylinder battery box

In the process of converting a 830 pony to electric start and i was wondering if anybody knew where i could get a set of brackets that hold the battery box on or just the dimensions so i could make them
Thanks
Ben

It's easier and less bother to repair the starting engine than to convert everything.
So many people purchase a starter bracket, a one wire alternater,a starter, Walmart cables and a battery. Then think they are going to start that two cylinder diesel below 50F for $500.00.

The starting engine makes 14+HP. And we have seen them on the 80/820/830/840 get a workout.
Starting that 471 two cylinder which cranks like a 1400cubic inch 600HP six cylinder diesel. Take at look at the starting system on those engines.
A single group 31 battery will produce approx 1000amps at 10V which will give 7-8 HP under ideal conditions.
If you look at the production log. You will see that Deere shipped the 24 electric start tractors to the southern states for a reason.

It will take two 12V batteries to make a 24V system. There is almost NO chance of starting that engine on 12V. In a cold climate the pony motor is the best starting option.

I tend to agree. And a properly rebuilt pony motor runs and sounds totally different then the average one you find on these tractors.
Same with the big engine. A properly rebuilt one just sounds different then the ones found For Sale that run.

Well its too late to turn back now i have the starter and bracket already done and the tractor was already half way converted but i put the orginal delco remy starter on it and the pony motor was in parts and i wrapped almost 5000 in rebuilding the one on my R, besides all my tractors are for show so the odds of me starting them in whether below 50 degrees is slim to none so if anybody knows where i could find a set i'd appreciate it.

Because When i restore something its a true restoration i completely overhauled the pony motor and i dont know where you get parts but i had a hard time finding parts for the pony motor and the four cylinder ponies are junk in my opinion
