Those that are still getting pay checks don't need the $13.00. It's the ones laid off that need it. How do we get our $13.00?

Tax withholding tables have been changed-reduced. Only people with jobs will benefit, unlike the previous stimulus plan.

As the others said, about $13 a week and then we get a bill that our children and grandchildren will have to pay. Our $13 a week has been estimated as costing each of us only $6500 and this is only round 1. That's stimulating.

White Knight and others;
The WITHHOLDING TABLES have been adjusted NOT your tax liability. You will get your $13 each week BUT at the year end you will still have to pay the same amount of taxes as if you had not gotten that money back. Just the same as taking an extra deduction all year for extra on the check then having to pay more at filing.

The $13 a week decrease in withholding is the result of a $400 decrease in the tax you'll owe for the year. It's $13 a week because it won't be for all weeks of the year. So it won't affect your refund - your tax for the year will go down that much also.

Until the end of the fiscal year when the TAX cuts from Bush will be allowed to expire, and again this is NOT a tax cut it is an ADJUSTMENT in the withholding and will affect your year end liablity.

The tax cuts that the Prez is letting expire were only tax cuts for people making $250,000 a year. So, when those tax cuts are gone, the tax for those people making $250k a year will go back up to where they were during the clinton years. so, in a way, it's basically an income tax raise for those people only. Those tax cuts were originally written to be temporary and signed by Mr. B himself as being temporary.

My understanding is that is single, X2 for married.

All people except those in the lowest two tax brackets will see an increase in their capital gains taxes too.
