Economy has to be on an upswing.

Yesterdays paper touched on a subject that I never would have imagined.

Iowa getting 1.7 Million to research a study why pigs stink??

Shoot I will tell them for only .7 million and we will be both happy cause they will still have a million.

Oil has jumped today to $45.00 a bbl things are lookin up .

Now now.

That study will result in: The need for fruther study of the issue, for 2.3 million.

Can't rush these things.

For those of you that dont know about sheds that have a 1000 or more in confinement the manure goes thru a slatted floor to a huge pit then its pumped thru an 8in hose maybe a mile or so and burried with huge discs behind a 300hp of larger tractor. Now those pits can give off some wild odors and they are doing tons of ideas and so forth to counter the odors. After all we do market 28 million or more per yr. It is a big problem anywhere these buildings are located and not just IOWA. North Carolina is second in numbers. We all like pork. This research will also help in dairys, chickens and beef feed lots so dont laugh at people putting food on the table keep messing around then see where it will come from and price. Just wait until lettuce and other veggies prices go higher as Calif is shutting off water for those who grow the veggies. When yopu make comments like that you just show your lack of the food supply.

*ell I will do it for $200,000 and save them 1.5million dollars.

I think that they may be studing how to use the pig stench to make methane for fuel or something. And get rid of the crap too.

When all the nnalert take over us infidels there wont be no more pigs stinking up anything here in Obamyville. Waiting for the revolution, Hoss

Actually the lagoons of the south are a lot worse in some designs than the slats with a basin under the barn.

The county I am in is ranks around #40 for the most pigs in the USA, I never knew that up here in MN. Got a lot of big barns around, 900 per barn, typially 4 barns per hog farm. Smell a little when they haul manure, and once in a while, but it's all farming, sure a lot better than a trailer park in the neighborhood!

I think a lot of comments, like mine, were done in fun. We know.

Of course you wont agree with me, but as I said before if we had many more small farms raising our food more naturally, and not the mega feed lots we wouldent have these problems. I raise my own beef, pigs and chickens and have them butchered, so I dont have to buy the mega feed lot food.

This was never an issue till the folks with Mc Mansions showed up the the neighborhood. We used to say, smell them dollars!
