If you could own, keep, and show or use any tractor without price or rarity being an issue, what would you have? I unfortunately had my dream tractor and sold it to pay towards our first home, Mine is, and was a John Deere G Hi Crop, Whats yours?

John Deere 730 diesel.
IH 1206
Super MTA Farmall narrrow front.
Also am a fan of the Oliver 50 series with MFWD.
Always liked the Allis tractors of the 70's

pretty much a red collector, but i have a sectret hankering for a john deere model r diesel with the pony start motor. dunno why, just somethin about that animal i took a likin to!!

Challenger 875B or 975B

I've wanted an Oliver 990 or Massey 98 with the GM diesel.

An IH 86 series would be nice too.

I'm also fond of the MX Magnums.

Actually, I like most tractors, so that means that most any will do, but I especially like the big tractors.

Hey, Dave from MN!
Nice list! My Dad owns a very nice Farmall SMTA with narrow front, and also an Oliver 1950-T FWA. The Oliver received a 6BT Cummins in the spring of '92. According to serial numbers, I believe it is the very last 1950-T FWA Built (November of '69). Best wishes!

JD 7810 with a loader and front and rear duals. My 7510 doesn't have a loader, and isn't quite big enough some days.

New or old?????

Old......My choice would be---IH--farmall A.

New.......JD 5000 series with all the stuff.

Honerable and thoughtworthy--old---IH-all letter series, Deere--BR.

it would be the 3020 and 4020 and 4000 disesl..

was been farming with 3010 and 4020.. got better use of those tractors and get job done right!

I own the 71 4000 with loader, year around cab with A/C on it. would like buy Other 4020..

allis chalmers B, 1939

Idleing away next summer in the field with a nice new paint job, non gas filled oil and the feeling that comes with i can start this with a crank if it stalls, no chains, kubotas or maags. Good stuff :-D

any day now!!

Classic: JD 630 w/ wfe, factory 3 pt, fenders, etc.

Light work tractor: JD 4020 SC diesel wfe

Handle most of the work: JD 4450 sound guard, PS, MFWD

Really dreaming: Current edition JD 8430 fully decked out

Something really offbeat (for me) Moline UB wfe or last edition (G955, G1355, etc.)
Hope I don't sound too greedy. LOL.

MM G1000 Vista or JD 6030 , no cabs , "nature's way" heat and air and stereo. Real men,s tractors! Old stuff? JD Model "D" , any year. The tractor that fed America.

Allis Chalmers 220, open station, fat rear tires, with a straight pipe! "What did you say!" Greg

I'm not a collector officially but I now have an AC (7030), 3 Fords (861, 8N & 5610) and a MF (35). I wish I could afford to add one from each of the older major brands just to have as a collection. My pick would be a Farmall M, 730 JD, MM1000, Oliver 98 (I think - the GM one), or the big Oliver 2255.

I wouldn't mind owning the first 4020D ever made and second choice would be the last 6030 ever made. Sorta the beginning (almost) and the last of the great New Generation Deeres.

No One said it Yet.. So , I will , How about tractor that always runs , never has flats ,never needs maintenance or Fuel,or a battery chargin,, LOL..... I have a Rainbow of Colors Assortment of 15 tractors , I am Reasonably Satisfied

1550 Oliver diesel wf,
late model John Deere 3020 with side console,
770 Oliver diesel wf with flat top fenders, checker board grill

Ther was a time when all I wanted was a McCormick 8-16 kerosene tractor, or a f-12 wide front. Now truthfully, I would like a new CaseIH about 70-100 hp with loader and cab. No hand cranking, no charger, no ether. Just get in and go. Oh, a SMTA diesel too ;)

Always wanted a power shift 4020. Finally got one this fall. I have had it in the shop the last month working on it. Still have a few little things to finish up on it but I got it out today and put it to work doing some odd jobs around the farm on a nice spring like day. Its a 1971 model, just like me.

Neighbor just bought one last fall, but sadly it is a gas, I'm not too impressed with it, but hear the diesel is a great one.

I like em all. I wish I was there to see John Froliech invent the first tractor, that's the tractor I wish I had now.
I hope I spelled his name right.

Howdy,

I would love to have an IHC 10-20 tractor. That was my great granddad's first tractor. Granddad told me stories about him threshing with it but I've never seen a picture of it. God bless.

It would be a the J.D. "D" that my grandfather bought new. It was one of the first 50 experimental tractors made. He took the steel lugs off and drove it 18 miles to his farm, put the lugs back on and went to work.

Aw - musta been asleep this morning when posted about the Olivers. What I really want is Pro Stock pulling tractor (that don't break) with custom tractor/trailer and living quarters.
Hey, we're all dreaming aren't we?

Front wheel assist with a loader and a cab w/heater and AC and AM/FM radio that never breaks down. Don't care what color. Should be a diesel and at least 150 HP! Not asking for much am I?

Let'd all of us Illinois boys meet in Farmington and help Bill pull wagons next fall. I want the 4020 powershift - you can run the RED ones!

I'm Quite fond of MY JD "H" Electric Start as, I Bought it from the original owner, and in Original "Work Clothes" I've had it since 1990 Larry KF4LKU
