First off, if this is not allowed on the forum please remove it. If it is here goes, I work for a small Village/Municipality and have been looking for a good responsible person for 2 yrs now. Located in NW Nebraska panhandle. For more info. e-mail me. Respectfully, Funtwohunt

I may have to think about relocating ? My place of employment right now is close to folding up.

A local school in Ohio just was on the news as they ran an ad for a full time janitor at $15.00 hr. plus benefits and had a stack of over 500 applications !

Am I the only one hearing a lot of alarm bells here???
"Looking...for two years...'..."a small Village/Municipality..."
Absolutely nothing about the alleged position open, about wage range, about necessary qualifications, whether housing available, nothing, just email me...
One would assume someone actually trying to fill a job would be a little more specific, if for no other reason than to save their own time...

I appolgize for using a post that alleges anything. If you have a problem with the post don't read it. It is very hard to find good responsible people who would want to work in a small Town or Village. Most people are in the bigger cities working (or layed off) for higher wages, more things to do, etc. More power to them!! We can't compete with $30.00 @ hr jobs. However I am still working! I have been working for this Village (pop. 1000) for 29 years. We own and operate the Electrical System, Water, Sewer, Streets, Alleys, Cemetary, etc. We don't do telephone or gas. As far as the "Red Flag - they have been looking for two years" yes we have been. I am not picky, but when 99% of applicants are into drugs &/or drinking and can not function without their cellphone/ text messaging, and the only thing in their life is talking about how wasted they get each day, it makes it pretty hard to find someone mature and responsible. If anyone is remotely interested please e-mail me. Respectfully, Funtwohunt

Yeah I been looking, only if I could get wife to move away from city.

Hopefull farmer picks me. I would bring my own tractor and truck that's sitting out mid west nebr.

I wish you luck in your search. Having lived in the Panhandle for 5 years hauling propane, I'll give the word about what a wonderful place it is to be. Nice people and open spaces.

Funtwo, you have my apologies; I'm just one of those conspiracy theorists who always sees what might be instead of what could be...
On the other hand (and you have my apologies for this one, too) you might've made some people think twice about moving to and living in a place where 99% of the job applicants are as you describe...altho, assuming you're not exaggerating a tad, it certainly sounds like you need some responsible people there...
Seriously, good luck.

Hi noncompos. I'll bet he's not exaggerating to much. We go through a lot of new hires where I work and the vast majority of them are the same way and/or don't have the privilege to drive anymore. The good kids are all into retail or I-T work or just plain don't want to sweat or get dirty. Even here in Iowa there's no good work ethic left. To many rich parents let the kids loaf around instead of teaching them the value of anything. ...Randy
