Satillite XM radio

I have "Dish" satillite TV. With it, I can get XM satillite music. I'm already paying for the service. So,my question is; Can I some how get this to the detached garage, about 150'-200' away. Wireless if possible. If so, how do I go about it? Or, should I simply get a satilite radio receiver for the garage, and pay the extra? Thanks for any replies.

Look on ebay for a fm stereo transmitter sort of
like item number 160317086617

Make sure you know everything about that unit
that applies... Some of the ones I looked at were
sort of vague in their description.

I believe his idea was to rebroadcast the XM from the house with a low power transmitter and tune it in on a standard FM radio at your shop location. You would have to feed the signal from the XM unit into the FM transmitter, probably off the speaker wires or headphone jack if so equipped. mEl

Information.. I have xm satelite radio in my truck. I set the truck outside the garage turn on the radio. Can pick up the radio in the garage on the same frequency the radio is tuned to. Don't know if it will travel 100ft. Doubt it. Bernie Steffen

I dont have xm radio, but on the receiver there shuld be 2 rca jacks....left and right audio out.
This should hook directly into a fm stereo low
power transmitter which will rebroadcast between
88 - 108 mhz (the fm radio band). Then you just use a standard am/fm radio to receive the rebroadcast on the transmitted channel. The key to range is the quality and height of the antenna. You can make an antenna easily...search for quarter wave vertical and you should find the formula for the length of the antenna or I can do it for you if you like.
Standard coax used for a cb radio is all thats
required. The signal levels should be around
1 volt peak to peak on both the xm receiver and the input to the transmitter. Some of the ebay
ads leave you guessing as to the connections and
their required values, but probably ok anyway.

I do the same thing in my garage with the XM. Usually can get good reception for about the length of a crewcab pickup and 18ft trailer on behind it. However, in the summertime, I move the XM from my pickup to my JD swather, and my son following me in another swather can pick up my XM, usually from quite a bit farther away than that....don't know if 100ft would be possible though...of course this doesn't help the original poster since his sattelite XM isn't broadcasted through a transmitter....

Check ccrane dot com - I have a fm tranmitter on my desk for a work project that I have not started. It states it will do what you need but only up to 75', clear, no obstructions...
