Paul Harvey stole a plane?

I was bummed out when I heard Paul Harvey had passed. Thought I would search his bio,and saw that he had a section 8 discharge for stealing a plane?
I could not find any more info on this. Does anyone know the facts on this?
I grew up listening to him and hung on every word till about fifteen years ago,when in my opinion he just didn't seem like he was writing what he was reading anymore.

Well as a kid in the military myself, I can only wonder. If 99% of us would have got caught doing what we were doing, well lets just say that the outcome of our lives would have been altered also.

I always enjoyed him as he had a nuteral position on politics, unlike the garbage that flows from the mouths of some of those idiots.

I certianly hope he did not freeze to death sitting beside one of those Amish heaters he took part in. That was one of the biggest dark things he got involved with. Makes stealing a plane seem like a walk in the park.

Good guy, we will miss him!

I'll miss him,but I kinda felt the same way. First he got on this "animal rights kick" with his son,then like you said,they just didn't seem to be his words anymore.

I don't think he was in on the Amish heaters, He was sellin Eden Pure heaters, not much difference between 'em, I think!

When I was In highschool back in the 70s, I used to listen to him on the way to school and he endorsed the Shick Flexamatic electric razor. I got my parents to get me one for Christmas. I still have it and it still works!

yeah that amish heater infomercial is a real side splitter. WHAT A JOKE. Shows one short clip of some amish tool installing the fake fireplace insert into a chip board cabinet over and over. funny 5hit!

You are right P H was endorsing the Eden Pure. I don't own one but my Dad does and he says it is awesome.

Actually,ive used those eden pure heaters and they seem to work well.have two in a old house where I hunt ,about 1500 sq ft,and cut the heat bill in half.would a regular electric do the same?dont know,you would think a 3000 watt heater would be the same regardless.one thing I do like they dont get hot outside.and they do have a filter which has got to help something..cant recall him not being on the radio,and the best thing about him he was seldom political,just put it out there and let it go.I think that trust would be the thing he will be remembered for,if he said it most folks believed it,and he could say it like he did too! Ive not heard his son but I hope he has got his dads gift of gab,sort of made you think things were alright when you listened to him...
