A hero of our times has finished the race. I am stunned. I grew up listening to Mr Harvey around the noon dinner table. Every day in the barn I left the milkers hanging for just a few minutes so I could go stand by the radio and listen to him tell the Rest of the Story at 6:05 on WMUS. All though far from perfect, Mr Harvey had a way of being a calm in the storm. No one had the ability to say what needed to be said, the way Paul Harvey did.
I knew at his age and since his wife Angel had passed on last May, his day were numbered. I am planning an around Lake Michigan vacation for the third week of March, and had emailed Mr Harveys office asking if at all possible I could stop by his Chicago office to meet him. I know he had missed several of the broadcasts this past week so didn't expect a response immediately. Now I hear this, guess that part of the vacation is off the table now.
We will miss you Mr Harvey. Thank you for your life.

Much respect to his lifes work and much sympathy to his family. but.....I have to say....his son tries so hard to imitate his Great Father that it sickens me. I wish he would learn his own style of speaking, other than trying to be his Dad. He is NOT and never will be. I just turn it off when Jr. is on. Paul Harvey THANKS FOR YOUR LIFES WORK.

Later in his career, he was a pretty vocal opponent of the liberalism that is invading our society. I always liked him, but that made me like him even more. He seemed to have a rational, down to earth view of things. I wonder how many Bose radios were sold because of his ads?

He was one of a kind.He had a common sense and a understanding of the real America.Probably one of the first voices I remembering hearing on the radio. Now we get to see the likes of Katie Couric and the rest that are so far gone from reality it's pathetic. The one thing I like about radio is you don't have to see the stupity.

I remember listening to Paul harvey daily. Use to pick up WNYR on a AM radio station. Does anyone remember the number of that radio station? Use to pick it up in Rochester, NY

I remember hearing him say one time that he would like to appologise to the hard working honest businessmen of the country. He said that he had been guilty of harrasing business owners without saying that there were good business owners out there. He went on to say that honest businessmen were the foundation of our society, they risk everything, their house, car, life savings, and many times their family security, in order to provide service in a fashion that built this country. He went on, but i got the point right away. I have never heard anyone else say thet they have maybe harshly judged people, ESPECIALLY on the Radio or TV. He was deffinately a classic, and classy.

Interesting that today, all you have is people reading scripts from the teleprompter, and they mostly dont even know what they are talking about, no less than to who.

I will surely miss Paul Harvey, and his honest delivery of what he thought was important.

Condolances to his family.

i will sure miss him, we listened to him everyday when i was growing up an then to him while in the truck everyday. about his son, he is not his father but as long as he follows in his fathers footsteps an along the same way of thinkin, more power to him. dont you want your son to follow you an learn.
i was just sitting here thinkin about all of this an how many great men an woman i have known personnally an now are gone, its sad, i sure miss them all. i just hope that when i am gone i have made enough of impression on some people that they might think of me in good memories also, doudt it though. i can be a jerk sometimes, well alot of the times
my step son an grandkids better or i will come back an haunt them.
