Question about classified ad search

What am I doing wrong? I search the classifies ads for "farmall H". I get ads for oliver 1755, cub loboy, D-17, etc. Why isn't the search more refined. I thought maybe the ads had an "h" in them or something but thats not true either. What gives? Not a problem just a little annoying

I think that what happens is that any ad that contains an h anywhere in it is brought up, and that is apt to be a lot of the ads given what a ubiquitous letter h is in English. I don't know if there is a better way to search, but I have not found it.

Just happened to notice this post. Take a look at this link:

http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/classifieds/classearchhelp.html

You'll see next to the search box a link that says Help? in little letters. That what this link is. We put a lot of options to help this because I found I couldn't find anything the way the search used to be just because of what some of the other posts said, any search term may appear in another word and still be valid. The options make it so you can get around that.

On your specific search, try this, it's not perfect because if someone has a Farmall C and a JD H listed in the same ad, you'll get them. It's closer though.

Put in
+farmall +"h"

This says that it has to have farmall in it and h can't be part of another word. (though the "h" may be connected to another word with a hyphen or slash)

Thanks,
Chris

Don't know about this search, but for most searches like goggle.
farmall H searches for either farmall or H.
To require both, place quote marks around both. "farmall H"

I think it's called boolien logic, or something similar,

but for anyone from earth it's more like Bully em logic and makes no sense.

Good luck

Gee I wonder why Google made it big, huh?
