Well the robins are here year round now, at least in this vicinity, there is enough food for em so you see them often, but the sighting of a red wing blackbird is always a good thing to see this time of year, they tend to leave in August, and come back in February, sometimes earlier, they are a bit late this year, just saw the first one, won't be long now..... best time of year coming up, always seems to uplift ones spirits, which is a good thing, time to start clearing branches from the field perimeters, darned ice storm made a real mess.

Will be a few weeks yet here in west central Minnesota. 10 degrees, 40 MPH nw wind blowing the 8" to 10" of fresh snow around. But, there"s no mosquitoes or wood ticks.

our mesquite trees have a green tint to'em here in west Texas. Thats a pretty good sign, cause is really hard to fool a west Texas mesquite tree.

Well,,You just take good care a them there birds Billy as thet say itel be 20 below here in nw ND tonite so i dont want to see them just yet,,,,,,,,,,,but im a looken forward to seein some spring real soon,,,,,as its been a looooooooooooog winter,,)

This morn we had lightning and thunder along with some semi-freezing rain here in NW Iowa, so we had a small reminder of very early spring for a couple of hours. Forecast temp for tonight is 4 degrees above. Jim

Here in Georgia it ain't spring till the Kudzu comes alive. Then you can bet there will be no more frosts. It's still dormant. The pear and maple trees are coming out.

Snowed about 3in. today and is below zero with 15 mph wind. Had to unload a TJ500. The trucker just about wouldn't get out of truck to untie it.

Robins have been here awhile in the temperate Pacific Northwest (never mind we had 2 inches of snow last night).

Everyone was pretty morose down at the coffee shop this AM- A robin had flown into the window, gave it a pretty good whack, and knocked himself out. Everyone thought he was dead. I was in a pretty good spot to watch him- Soon he was awake, but still in the same spot. Then he was up and strutting on the sidewalk, testing all his parts, then pooped on the sidewalk and flew away.

Waitress came over, noticed he was gone, and was distraught- she was just sure that "that damned garbage cat" that hung around the dumpster had come and got the bird. When we reported that he had escaped unscathed, she was so happy she brought a round of donuts for all. Owner was back by the grill, just smiled, shook his head, and went back to the grill.

When I settled up, I offered to pay for my donut. Boss said, "My girl gave you that donut- there's nothing to pay for." After a little discussion, he said, "That girl is such a breath of fresh air around here, with her passion. You all love her, and so do I. Us old guys get so jaded about 'bottom line' and making sure everything is done by the book, we forget about the important things in life. I've decided to just let her kind of direct how things go around here, and if it costs me a coffee or a donut now and then, so be it. Us old geezers need to let the next generation start taking over."

Its been so warm in n. central & e. Tx. the trees are already leafing out and daffodils are blooming. Was close to 80 today, a cool front comes in tonight, dropping temps back to the 60's. They're predicting upper 80's this time next week.

Now, if we could get some rain. Stats say this is the 6th driest winter on record.

Some on now Nancy, be honest. Weather in the 80's doesn't count as Winter, and it shouldn't count as spring or fall either!!!

It's cold, snowing & blowing here. I'd figure we got about 4-5" so far and more on the way.
