Getting a IH Drott 4 in 1, Model 9k3 Serial A8660. Can anyone tell me more about this? Gas start or straight diesel? Weight? Year? Any thing that may help me understand what it is. I keep reading references to a "TD" model but then I am lost. Kept in covered barn for 10 years. It was used for clearing lots and then the man decided to retire and parked it in the barn and never used it again. Thanks for your help.

I may be wrong, but the Drott Company made the loader/dozer/bucket system. I think you will find an IH or other tracked power unit under it. JimN

9K3 usually means a Drott loader on a TD-9 IH, maybe a T-9 too. Gas or direct start? depends on the year. I think 59 was first year for 92 series direct start.

Just remember, you have two separate machines, built by two separate manufacturers. The loader manufacturer is Drott, and the info you listed is for the loader. IH manufactured the crawler tractor the loader is mounted on, and TD refers to the model of the tractor, although there will be a number after the TD, such as TD 6, to complete the tractor identification. There were also models TD 8, TD 14, and so on. This information will be found on the tractor itself, not on the loader. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I have a picture on my phone but thats it. Trying to find a way to bring it home. The truck and trailer they used to haul it with was sold a few years back. I will try to get the pic posted so everyone can see it. Thanks.
