skidsteer boneyard? need NH L555DLX hyd motor

My trusty old new holland L555 deluxe skid steer munched a hydraulic motor. A bearing disintegrated and it trashed the motor.

I need to find a boneyard that might have one of these.

A new hyd motor from NH is $2k.

Any ideas?

Thanks

If you are not in a hurry, find out who makes the motor. It is probably a standard item.

Create an eBay alert for hydraulic motors. You should get an email from eBay within several days or several months that has the motor you want.

I have bought two motors (both new) in the past year for under $100 each. I held out for the correct shaft size, mounting flange, ports, and displacement. In other words, I got exactly what I wanted.

Is the motor too far gone to kit? Mabey with a few extra parts?
I think those were Cessna motors... at least I think the pumps were Cessna, so I'd assume that the motors were as well.

I've not seen the bad motor yet (my buddy took it out in his shop) but he says the broke-up bearing really chewed up where the bearing seats, as well as the rest of it.

I spoke to GD Equip, and learned that it is an Eaton motor. I just need to snag the part num and go looking around.

GD Equip has the motor new for $900- a major improvement, but still poking around.

I think I'd grab that while it's still on the shelf...
On the other hand it might surprise you what it costs to fix them. I've replaced the shaft and seals in two Eaton's in my LS170. That was a few hundred. A couple hundred more might get you the bearings and thrust surfaces if needed IF the plungers and barrels aren't buggered. Otherwise that 900 sounds pretty good to me. Used is just taking home someone else's worn out motor that didn't fail on THEM yet. Considering the amount of misery involved in changing them, I'd sooner do it once...

Eaton is "Char-Lynn"
Unless you throughly flush the system, including
hoses, and reservior, and change the hydraulic
filters--the debris now in the system, from the
failed motor, will quickly wipe out any other
motors, and the pump.
In fact- just driving the machine while the first
motor was failing means the rest of the system is
contaminated, and it"s life has been shortened !
