Hmmm.... Dad ran one of those through the haybine one year a while back.... Said it made a heck of a mess when he had to pull it out of the crimper rolls...

Biggest animal I ever put through a haybine was either the skunk or female mallard. Skunk was definately the worst though...

Wonderful pics. Brought a smile to my face, can"t wait for Spring. Things will look better in the Spring.

At best I've still got frost on the ground and frozen like concrete just a few inches down cause I live in global freezing. You must be usin those new heated boards I've been hearin about. Must work pretty good too cause that sure did grow awfully fast. Chuckle.

Don, in the plowing pic, is that a 4-18"? What is the tractor, looks like it is a 1850. Guessing it plays with that plow. I dont want to plow my lighter soils this spring, but with the melting snow I see that last years rye ground is thick as turf with voluteer rye, I dont think a disking or two will suffice so I may have to moldboard plow it. I am hoping that the 1750 will handle a 5-16 as that is the smalledt I have access to, I dont think she'll pull 6-16's

I've run one through my John Deere Disc mower with the impeller conditioner, I try to go real slow around field edges during fawning season. Don, what kind of mower conditioner is that?

It's a Hesston 1014+2 (twin sickle). We paid $600 for it to save it from the scrap man, and another $600 to replace everything in the cutting head. Well worth it if you ask me...

Dad ran the fawn through a Ford 535 (New Idea 290)either back before I was around, or when I was too little to cut hay myself.

It's a 4-16, and that's our 1855 before I added the Rops and fuel tank fenders. Put out 105 PTO HP on the dyno a few years back when we had it in for a new clutch.

In our soil, it's all we really want to pull. In most other areas, I'm sure we could go to atleast a 5 bottom if not a 6 bottom, but it just ain't gonna happen around here. I ussually go in 3rd direct, but there have been times I've had to drop to 2nd.

We're just biding our time. Probably be 15-20 years before we feel like selling the land (I hope) for some serious profit. Take the money and move a little farther out again or invest it for a secure retirement. Maybe just quit working once it's sold...
