I have a Continental 226, 6 cylinder engine that is locked up. Someone told me that an IH engine from a Farmall 300 would bolt right in place of the continental engine.

Can any one tell me if this is true or not?? I know there would be a difference of 6 to 4 cylinders!!

I need a short block for Continental diesel TMD 27, spec 5400. I am located in MA. They are used in things like compressors, welders, forklifts, and 4 wheel drive municipal vehicles.

Here is my engine fit list up to 1963.

Same SAE-4 is used by - Allis Chalmers G138, G149, G226; some Chrysler 230s and 265s, HB170, HB225, Continental F124,F186, F209,F226, F244, some G157s, Ford some 134s, 262s, 172s, 220s, 223s, 272s, 292s; General Motors Detroit Diesel 2-53, 4-53; Hercules some G1500-G170-G2000-G2300-G3000-G3400-IXLB-JXC-JXD; International Harvester DU-66D, DU-74D, DU-111D, DU-132D,only some C-135-C-153-UC-153,UB-264,UB-220, UB-240; Minneapolis Moline 220-4, M220-B, Willys some 134, all 226 and 230.

I've been sitting on the side lines ever since I stopped posting. I'm still not going to post all that much till cabin fever is over and people start treating others the way they should as in if you can't say some thing nice don't say it at all. Only reason I'm here in the first place is to do my best to help others
