OT: china junk

have seen the subject mentioned in quite a few forums. how about taiwan, and japan? just curious to opinions, i have several handtools from japan and several from taiwan and they are really good tools. brand names include: fuller-japan, greatneck-taiwan, promark-taiwan, popular mechanics-taiwan and of course craftsman-japan.

Many years ago japanese and taiwan was also complete junk. They finally came around. Too bad we don't have more from them (and lots more from us).

When the China tool cost 1/2 what renting the same tool for a day costs, it's a no brainer. As for Japaneze tools, just be thankful World War Two was 65 years ago, we'dd be hurting today.

It would be a mistake to discount the products of any country. Japanese products after the war were mostly junk. Now Japan is known for making some of the finest products in the world. Twenty years agos, when imports from China started coming in, the stuff was garbage. Now much of the stuff from China is high quality, made to US specs. I just put a Delta fence on my table saw. Chinese manufacture, but of first rate quality.

First Japan, then Taiwan, now China and Korea. In a few years expect quality imports from India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, etc. I don't like it, but that's the way things go.

there stuff that they sell us is truly a joke, but if we americans wanted to pay higher prices and wait longer for quality products, they the chinese, could make better products. it's all a matter of supply and demand. we americans demand cheap products and lots of them and the chinese responded. i am NOT taking up for there business practices, but the same thing could be done in america if we still had manufacturing factories, but the political situation 40 years ago opened up trade with asia and this is where we are now and we are not likely to ever see american manufacturing again because of startup cost, insurance, liability and waiting time for quality. in short, quality and quantity cannot survive together.

Look at our economy, look at the lack of jobs. IF you can buy American made, buy it. Why do people keep thinking they have to have everything? All they do is buy the cheap foreign made stuff so tey can have more stuff. Yes, the theory was if other countries had higher earnings they would buy American made stuff and our economy would improve, but that hasnt been the case. Buy American. I know, it is hard to find stuff made in America, but it's out there. We have to create the demand for products made right hear in the USA, without demand for our own products we wont lure the manufacturers back.

My friend's father finally retired and went on a European trip. When he came back he showed his son a wrench he had purchased in Germany. He said: "Just look at this wrench, look at the quality. Look at the steel, that's good German steel". My friend examined it and spotted some small lettering on it. He examined it more closely and read: "Made in Brooklyn, USA". He kidded his dad about "that good German wrench, that good German steel" for years afterward.

I have things made from all over the world. Even things assembled in USA from componants sourced from who know where ? Some things may even be all USA , but this is by no means a guarantee of quailty !

Most of the older made USA products tools and appliances come to mind ? held up very well and many are still in use. I have several Made in Japan items and some India wrenches that I'd rate among the best things I have ever owned ! I also have some China,Taiwan, and others ? that I wish I'd of never dragged home ! but some of it has been fine.

The poor quailty of the USA autos and trucks of the 1970's and 1980's is what gave companies like Toyota the boost to what they are today.
This is the only reason USA cars and trucks assembled from parts sourced all over the world are gaining in quailty. Thank goodness we have more choices then "the big 3" who for years cornered the markets and got stuck in a rut of selling us any ole thing.
Now mix in Union and tax code problems you gave American Manufactures a death blow.
It is way more complicated then this , but I feel this is the big reasons it all happened.

General Motors has used engines made in China is some of their vehicles. Installed new radiator in the wife's Toyota this week. New one looked perfect, every bit as good as the original. Fitted perfectly, written lifetime warranty from the distributor who sold it to me. Was amazed to see that new one was made in China. But it seems to be as good as any would be.

Said on this board in the past week you get what you pay for in the way of quality.

China and others will boom as long as the Americans poney up the dollars at harbor freight, Walmart, kmart, Khols, sears, and on and on. Now try to buy something made in the USA in the above stores. Thank our elected official for the free trade agreements. See where the companies moved to and job lost. Square D is Mexico. The SE has the first to take the hit for job and companies lost.

Cheap tools and sockets will work for the city home owner so here you have a nitch for the China stuff. Looking in some farm tool chest full of China wrenches and such, is a true puzzle to me? Was told they they will work as long as you don't get too ruff. Sort of like buying a new vehicle with no wheels.

If you use your tools to make a living you soon see that American made is the best. After you skin knuckles real good,or round off an expensive part because your almost right wrench didnt fit the dollars you saved buying the junk dont add up.Japan is better than China but still an import. Why we even import anything from China is a mystery to me.Americans arent out in front of Wal Mart with picket signs wanting more China junk.Wal Mart has run everybody else out of business and now charge us 2 or 3 prices for China junk. Its a big scam.Sure people thats wages havent kept up to the cost of living are going to want cheap stuff because thats all they can afford.Buying high priced junk from China is ruining our country and we need to figure out who is responsible for it and get rid of them.

I am sorry the american corporations are draining us dry.our elected crooks are falling over themselves giving tax break after tax break to these people and they move their production or some of it overseas and provide no benefit to the usa just takers.
and then you wonder where your kids are going to work to buy the things that you have that they cannot afford.
also you have no problem supporting corporations that have no problem taking advantage of workers and doing stuff that they could not do here.
sounds like we believe in slavery again at least overseas.
wanna stop it? do not buy those items and let them know.if you get enough folks to do it they will have no choice.
I do not care if the local wages are 30 cents an hour a day or a month. it is wrong and you are supporting it.
do not come crying when your kids can"t find work.

Support Taiwan, it is NOT a communist country, and has gained a reputation for producing quality, reliable, products.
Japan has earned its reputation for quality, but due to the exchange rate, many well-known Japanese brand names are out sourcing their manufacturing to other Asian countries, including the PRC.
BUT, since a large percentage of the users of this site are Harbor Freight devotees, and wouldn't recognize quality if it bit them, the COMMUNIST Chinese will still get their money, even though the Chicoms have threatened to nuke us. As of now, their ICBM's, guided my American technology, given/sold to them during the 90's only have the range to reach the west coast of the US, which given the leftist leanings of certain cities and states, DESERVE to be burnt to a crisp.

The answer is simple, Businesses will go where it is cheapest to do busisiness and profits are highest. If our lawmakers want to create jobs, lower or remove (yes I said remove) business taxes. Lessen building restrictions-permitting enviromental-study damage B.S. etc. and you will see companies come back in droves. They are in business to make money, create a climate where they can and they will return. The tax money lost will be recooped in the added jobs and overall improved economy.

It is people who refuse to buy from American companies that have made the mess this country is in. My brother talked me into buying an foreign made 3/4 drive socket set. The sockets open up like beer cans, all junk. I bought an SK set and have had no problems. When I go to the store now and see it is made in China I will not buy it unless I can't find it made somewhere else. Sometimes it is impossible to find it made elsewhere because American companies have went to China to get the cheap labor and the poor quality that China is famous for.

The Japanese came up with catchy phrases like U.S. autos are made by lazy Americans, that boosted Japanese sales. When the Japanese made money after selling that junk in the U.S. they built plants is the U.S. and came up with the phrase that their products were better and had better quality. One of there favorite phrases now is American autos are all built in old plants, the U.S. companies need to build new plants to get good quality. I haven't seen Toyota bragging about better gas mileage in their new Tundra truck, their mileage is worse. They copied the U.S. truck and made some changes which they say are an improvement and the American people believe them. Ford has better quality today than the Japanese but the American people are so in love with the Japanese for what they did back in 1941 there is no changing their buying habits. The junk yards are full of the high quality Japanese cars, the motorcycle junk yards are over flowing with high quality Japanese motorcycles. The Japanese made the disposable auto and motorcycle. I see them broke down along the road and being towed now more than U.S. autos. It is the people without a conscience that are buying the Japanese autos and trucks, I refuse to buy anything that I don't have to from someone that killed 2500 sleeping sailors.

The unions in this country are what gave the American people a living wage and a pension. I don't know of any government employee that don't have health care and a pension. That's state, county and city workers also. Even school teachers and the janitors at the schools. For some reason auto workers are not entitled to one. I have seen posts on this site where people will not work in a factory on an assembly line because of the type of work and the speed of the work. It sounds like those that do work in factories are not entitled to a decent wage and a pension, especially auto workers.

I am for American jobs. I am for American made products. I AM against ridiculous high profit margins and I am for profit sharing with ALL employees. I am also against unions that push their members to bleed their employers for those same ridiculous wages. A lot of union members seem to think that they need to have everything. If a company is paying a good wage, and good benefits, the employees should be happy with that, but no, many, not all , workers these days think they need full benefits, and a wage that allows them to buy everything and live like a rock star. Same goes for upper management. There should always be profit sharing, fairly. Excessive profits should always be utilized for the progression of the company and reserves for hard times. Not million dollar bonuses and $30-$50 an hour general laborers. Greed on both ends lead us to these issues. I used to have a huge salary, and very nice bonuses. I worked 12-14 hour days sometimes with 7 day weeks. Sometimes was in the plant for 24+ hours straight. I was happy for the raises and bonuses I got, but never demanded more. I also shared, I bought pizza for all my employees many times, many many times bought pop, and stuff like that to share with employees. No other managers there did that. Then when I would do this out of pocket, I still would hear from the "big shot" union people that my acts of employee appreciation were a slap in the face. I once bought all y dept's tootsie roll pops because it was Valentines day. Well the union stewards were "spreading the word" that I did it because they were all suckers. These were the STEWARDS that are supposed to work on good relations. I used to sit and listen to people complain every time we had to reduce workers or increase line rates to improve efficiency. Those same people would yell that they should be paid more every time we produced more, even after showing them raw material costs increases and foreign competition. They didn't get that a 2% profit margin for the owners was not good. It was always "what about me" with them. They were the rotten apples that would spoil the whole group. Complaining about wages, but driving new vehicles every year, at the bar every night, buying new homes, having full insurance. None of it was good enough. Sad part is that those few individuals are the ones that make the powers that be at corporate believe that the employee's at that plant didn't care about having a job, kinda shafting the majority of the employees that worked there. That plant is one of that corporation that hasn't moved to Mexico or China, but the union demands at the next contract may change that, and they will blame it all on the "company". I support American jobs, I support American rights, I buy American every chance I can, even at higher prices. I will not shop Walmart for this reason, but I stand firm on my belief that union greed and corporate greed are equally responsible for what has happened in this countries manufacturing sector. NAFTA didn't help, politicians didn't help, but if the people could just be able to be happy with modest life and income on both side, most of those people would probably still have that modest manufacturing job, with good benefits and little or no union dues. Instead they unemployed or working at a store that is selling a foreign product that not long ago was made by them. Don'T ever tell me I support the problem!

In 1960, the USA was the absolute leader in Technology and manufacturing. Then the nnalert took control, and started piling many burdens on business, and by 1968, factories were falling like flies. 10 out of 11 factories went broke by 1980. It has gotten worse every year. Today the govt imposed burderns have added at least 40-60 % to the cost of what we do, most of that is a farce.
We destroyed ourselves. It was the nnalert, the liberals, who killed us. The nnalert have always been lividly anti-business, anti-profit, demonizing the employer.

right on, dave. people buy way too many cheap goods just because they are cheap. then they don't have enough money to buy the good essentials so they buy them cheap too. it's better to have a few good, american made products than a truckload of cheap foreign junk!jim

If you buy a Weatherby Vangard rifle, it is made in Japan. But it is a good accurate gun at a good price. $399.00 base price plus options. I don't know about any China built guns.

Too bad you are still stuck in 1941.
You hit the nail on the head "sleeping sailors" why were they asleep ? someone should of been keeping watch ! The US thought they were too high and mighty to have anyone attack them ! Same problem when 9-11 happened !
Now China has caught us asleep again ! They won't even need to fire a shot all they have to do is buy us up and foreclose on our debt.

And as for Pearl Harbor I give credit where credit is due. It took the inovativeness of the Japanese to build an airplane that was fuel effeicent enough to fly accross the Pacific. And the party mentality of the US to be asleep and too arrogant to think they could never be attacked.

Those that refuse to learn from the past are destined to repeat it !

The USA NEEDS to wake up !!!! as we are asleep at the wheel again. Also too many fat cats are partying and living high on the hog ignoring what they are doing to ruin this country. Washington DC is sending us down the toilet at a VERY FAST PACE.

Go to TSC store and walk down the chinese hand tool isle,,, you will C a locked wire caged box with the good vice grips and channel lock pliers,,, why are they locked down,,, I would like to know,,, is it that more profit is made on the cheap tools and they want to make it a PITA to have someone come unlock the cage for the good tools,,, dunno but I would really like to know why the good stuff is locked down

You can about forget any tool B'n american made any more, even snap-on,,, yes the last 2 Snap-on tools I brought are made in chinna,,, I jumped a snap-on rep on a forum for profession mechanics about this and he replied to me off line,,, fessed up to outsourcing the parts are the tool off shore,,, said keep it tween us he liked his job

I have a few Titian ratchts I brought from Northern tool and will put'em again any ratchet out their,,, any Sunex (taiwan) tool is as good as it gets,,, I have a set of SK gear type wrenches that I brought back last summer,,, does not say were they were made,,, I paid $200.00 for the set,,, bout a mouth ago i saw the same zact set for a little over $100 made in Taiwan,,, I still have the box the SK set came in and on the box it reads in small rite'n Made in Taiwan,,, I paid a extra $100 for the SK name,,, thats git'n old

sounds like I am Toot'n off shore tools, nope I am finding it hard to find a tool thats made in the USA. I am tired of geting ripped off just for a brand name. If I were Irwin (mostly offshore) are channel lock (dunno) I would B at TSC raising ell for my line to b under lock and key

If the goverment would keep their fudgen hands out of the mess we are in I relly think things would turn around ,,, long as they depress sosity with welfair/free handouts things are gonna keep going down hill. Our focuas shoul B on rebuilding america, I vote we fence our selfs in under lock and key till we can become self supporting again. If you can not afford it then you will have to do with out it, no alternatives like cheap offshore junk,,, Seams i remember it use to b that way

Went to NAPA to buy a good quality water pump, and get home and find out it's made in china. Wasen't too happy with NAPA. The manager did say if it failed they will replace it free. Then I could spend most of another day changing it again. On a 99 GMC van it's a real mess. Stan

I use to spend 5K a month with NAPA,,, I don't any more,,, If that line of parts starts to come back they will just sling that limited warranty line at ya "we no longer warranty that item it had a limited warranty even if you played the game and have the "lifetime warranty" material with it.

I know how to play the game and even went as far as to save the box the part came in with 'lifetime warranty" wrote on the box,,, did not matter ,,, we no longer warranty the item

Their Lifetime mufflers use to come with a registration and once mailed in you got a certificate that looked like a car title to a muffler 8) ,,, How many of those mufflers would you like to have,,, I have a pile of'em out back,,, even tho i played the game they refused to warranty them,,, the title is useless

they use to have a number to call for warranty,,, they changed it daily to make it difficult to git help

They sucked me for lifetime brakes, AC Compressors, water pumps and so on,,, cost them a 60k a year account with a warrant i did not ask for but to increase sales fell for the trap,,, they have not figgerd out why I only spend a few hundred a month with them now,,, they still tell me they offer the same warranty as the parts house i deal with now,,, sure they do BTDT

We replaced the water pump on one of our rigs with a genuine AC Delco pump. The box said made in China, the pump said made in China. No problem fitting it and after 4 years is still going strong. Get used to using China stuff, like American made, some is junk, but most is good quality.

If you recall it was an early Sunday morning. I am sure someone was on watch, that's why we were able to beat the cowards back. When the coward Japanese launch planes from 5 aircraft carriers off the coast of Hawaii and they arrive all at once it's hard to respond immediately, they crippled us, they did not destroy us. China has not caught us asleep, some of the American people just like to buy cheap junk so they buy Chinese.

The Japanese planes were not fuel efficient they carried extra fuel tanks to get them to their destination then dumped the extra fuel tanks, did their deed and crashed into something important if they were able. The ones that bombed Pearl Harbor were launched from aircraft carriers that would no longer float about 3 years later. They weren't very sea worthy. To give you a little information on Japanese quality and how great they are those cowards did not have a plane that would fly or a ship that would float in 1945. If those sailors were partying the night before they did one heck of a job getting planes in the air, manning gun turrets and sending the cowards on the run.

Washington is not sending us down the drain. They have sold us out to the Japanese and Chinese and every other country that will build junk to import into the U.S.. and welcome every foreigner who wants to come here to flood the labor market to keep labor wages down. The people who are buying all this foreign junk are the ones that sent this country down the toilet. Nobody forced anyone to buy the junk, unless that item is only made over seas. You need to go live with your hero’s. My hero’s are the men and women of the U.S. armed services and blue collar America, the working men and women of this country..

nothing wrong with chinese rifles...they shot the he!! out of my daddy and other Americans in Korea.
I have a Chinese rifle in 7.62x54 that shoots just as well as my Garand...and cost $59.
kind of scary, really...

support taiwan??? what about SUPPORT USA? That seems like caving in and just settling for what you consider "second best". I could give a dam what they are, I Support MY country as much as I can. I say boycott all offshore junk as much as you can, let them (whoever "they" are) US investors or greedy companies that have moved from the US. Let them eat their crap. I realize sometimes it is impossible to NOT buy foreign, but doing the best you can is all we can do now. every little bit helps.

I wish a list of US companies still manufacturing in the US were published....I would support them as best as I can in any way.

you are right on about the leftist "left coast" tho, we could live better without it. It is a leach that has festered into a cancer.

Lots of comments. I"ll add a couple- Japanese industry started using an American industrial control practice developed by a guy named Deming in early 60s or so, Toyota was a user that got good results and used more of Deming protocals- as in the just in time inventory , numerical quality control standards on assembly. Japanese industrial groups and government gave Deming award and cash, have a annual tophy/award named after him for their manufactures. Taiwan and Korea were Japanese colonies before WW@ and were developed some by Japanese, retained some industrial links and had some of their people educated in Japan- they kept in touch with the Japanese manufacturers and when they started developing higher quality parts the Japanese did some subcontracting with their old school buddies in Taiwan and Korea. The implementation of a "American" process in Taiwan and Korea after american military help was social acceptable and resulted in better products and some extra cash for home use- the need for American standard spare parts for the military equipment led to inch standard instead of metric standard equipment available and knowledge of the American patterns and tools. After making some extra spare parts the shops had some extra time and capacity for civilian export activity- the workers and equipment set up for inch standard logically looked to American market as reasonable choice to sell some extra oil filters, tool sets, bearings, small appliances at a bit of profit. Quality was acceptable for many light use retail apps- their own military wanting locally produced higher quality parts helped lead to higher quality parts for civilian sales, the taiwan military warantee policy of "make a bad part that gets someone killed and you die next" led to carefull assembly of extra civilian market parts, finish might not have been the best but metalwork met the american spart parts standards. The cheapest civilian sales goods of poorer quality were also made- the workers knew it, the store purchasers knew it and most customers knew it- but the cheapies held up long enough to do a couple jobs as needed- this was good enough to make a profit (and for some military use like one shot mortar bombs that were to be expended). The Union contract health and retirement benifits in US were good but more like policy of late 1800" Germany started under Bismark- they post WW2 social benefits in Japan, Taiwan, Korea mixed worker benefits from work with government provided health and pension plans of 1920/30s socialits- manufacturers paid in once to government instead of being stuck with future liabilities. In return government didn"t have political problems of activists union getting vote against them. This is same advantage of Canadian made American brand cars- the GM examples note about a $1800.00 per car worker expense advantage over American made car- both made by union workers in same basic UAW union-the Canadian government provides the health care. China mainland manufacturers are going hrough same process that Korea and Taiwan went through 20 years back-- as noted a Chinese rifle is quite functional, the $59.00 probable type 56 copy of Russian M91 Nagant shoots as good or better than the $250.00 30-30, matchs the basic .308 ballisticly and is no big loss if falls out of back of hunting truck- results in higher sales of old surplus that had inspector and worker making reliable, functioanl rifle just to keep from getting shot for making bad ones- worker attitudes carry over to the civilian jobs many times. Consumer goods sold at Walmart are meant to meet a price level, the quality is acceptable at that level, some of it is sold locally in China to workers who buy it and believe it is good enough for them for daily use while the higher party bosses get imports from Europe or Japan. Have fun with these remarks. RN

No where did I ever state that the Japanese were my heros ! There are lessons to be learned from the past and other cultures. They saw an opertunity and took advantage of it. Several times infact. Japan builds quailty products to nobody's fault but the USA.

You are too hot headed like so many others on this board to have a rational discussion about how this country ,USA, is asleep at the wheel again.

There are some problems with putting this country under lock and key, like the TSC tools LOL

Problems like some raw materials are only found and mined in certain places on the Earth.
I think Chrome may be one of them. I have a cheapo set of wrenchs made in India. These have held up great. I was told India has the largest amount of chrome and likey used alot of it in those wrenches.

I agree with most of that.

But you can't leave these companies go left unchecked as then you will have things like when the Cuyahoga River in Ohio caught on fire from all the polutants. There has to be a balance and reasonable standards so we don't polute ourselves to death. This area allready is known as cancer alley. Likely due to all the polutants from all the factories that used to be around here.
China has no regulations and has not learned from our mistakes so they may soon be the new cancer alley.

I wouldn't say that the US were the leaders in all technology in 1960. Maybe some stuff but not all. The N.A.S.A award for excellence went to a Canadian named Jim Chamberlain. He headed up the Gemini and Apollo missions. He, along with 25 other engineers were snapped up by N.A.S.A after the Canadian designed and built Avro Arrow was cancelled. Avro were the recognized world leaders in aircraft design and development. Some of their accomplishments: First jet air liner in N. America, 7 years before Boeing, 2 weeks after the Dehaviland Comet for its first flight. It actually went on a flight. The Comet lifted off the runway and landed but that was considered a flight. The Arrow had the first fly-by-wire control and the first 4000 psi hydraulics to fly. The engines for the Arrow were the first designed around titanium and Avro were pioneers in the use of titanium. The engine was the most powerful in the world at the time. The engine in the F-15 is similar in power but wasn't developed until 20 some years later. You can't blame gov't. on everthing. A lot of things yes but not everything. It is wrong to think that the US has a monopoly on brilliance. I don't think there are many industries more high tech than military aircraft and space flight. Dave

For what it's worth---Several years ago. I built a 30x60 shop with metal roof. The store I bought most of the material from, knew I didn't like foreign made material. When I started installing the roofing with metal screws, I noticed "made in japan". I went back and asked the salesman if he had American made screws. He stated that he did and went back and brought out two boxes of "US Steel" screws. I asked what the difference in price was and he stated THEY WERE THE SAME!
You figure!!!

The Japanese didn't have a navy left in 1945, that is true. But it was not because of poor quality ships. It was because of the US Navy.

After the spindly corner computor desk that will be sent back this week., My wife may be done buying the Chines Crap , I have told her if it says china on the box I will not put it together until I am good and ready , SO SHE puts it together , then I repair it to hold up to AMERICAN STANDARD ,,, She has bought more than I would like to Allow ,, I fear I may have parts to Granpa 's M..Moline combine made in to yard ornaments and so forth..I preach Buy Only AMERICAN,, I think she is beginning to hear me Now

The environmentalist liberals shut down the vast majority of American factories, shipping the jobs overseas- where the Earth pollution is worse than ever.
As usual, the environmntalists have done more harm than good. For 50 yrs I have watched the liberals
destroy my country, and i am sick of it.

You need to join the military and see what we do all the time.America is defended by a lot of good young people that do a job that might cause them to die to protect you.
What caused this is people not wanting to pay any taxes.Thats how it started.Under the crooks they said they wouldnt raise taxes and they didnt for a few years, then raised taxes, then raised them again, and the same people that wouldnt vote for the other side voted the crooks in over and over thinking they saved on their taxes, even though taxes doubled,we lost unions, and factories,Wal Mart type business was allowed to get stronger in every business, and now these same people have amnesia.Cant remember what happened and are the first to throw their hands up in the air and say we will just have to buy the China junk.Thats why the country is in such a mess, and its not going to get better by buying China junk.As for China buying us out, before that happens we will go bankrupt,or have a different currency,or a war,or something as long as we have good people running the country and a strong military we dont need China or anybody else.China needs us way more than we need them, and thats the whole reason for nuclear weapons,China.Trouble is the same crooks that gave us the imported slave built trash junk from China now run the government because stupid people voted for them for decades.
Another thing that seems strange to me is that we were over there in China in WW2 and kicked the Japanese out,but secretly let the Communists have it,but acted like we were for the Chinese Nationals. All of the crooks in our country since Nixon have been over to China kissing them where the sun dont shine, giving them technology and importing junk. They only way they could do it was with the government or powerful bully crooks in the government being behind it.Some crooks in our own government did this.So I think the same crooks in our own government, who undoubtably got rich from it,should have to pay for it now.I dont exactly know who,or what it is thats doing this, but I know what its called. Its F@scism,thats when big companies run the government. Its been going on since before WW2 in the world.Somehow it sneaked in under the radar and is running our country and we need to throw it out, hard, and the people bringing it in need to go long ago.Its so bad now that people from out side our country are involved in ruining us in every way they can, including the news media being owned by crooks that dont want the truth out there,or as little truth as possible as long as they can twist it to their crooked agenda.

Hey JOB,

Union thugs also sabotaged a bunch of Caterpillar equipment when a friend of mine inadvertantly strayed into "union turf"...

So you can wave the "union" flag all you want - but to a lot of honest, "independent" workers, unions are little more than organized crime with a public office space and phone number.

I'll bet you can't tell me the difference between chicken-s**t equipment sabotage/union threats, etc, and average everyday terrorism...

Unions WAY over-grabbed for power and money in the 80's and 90's and management caved in - so of course, manufacturing work is flocking to countries where labor is cheaper and more honest. And American companies are now paying the price in caving in to unrealistic union demands and threats.

And I have all American vehicles. But I won't buy a new one! I'll buy a good used American vehicle, because I won't subsidize the unions anymore than many people won't subsidize the foreign car companies...
