I want to thank all of you that responded. This website & forum is great to say the least !!! I took a look at the Wix website and it looks like the 51760 that bc mentioned might be the right replacement.
Here's a picture of the old girl. before I got it, it had been well used and then fairly abused. Now it lives a life of semi-retirement. The filter in question is inside the large upright tube where the loader pivots.

If the filter is inside that tube, are you sure it is not a strainer? I will send you an e-mail. I found one yesterday while cleaning the garage. J.

I guess you could call it a strainer. It's a kind of coarse reddish fiber tube. Not like a regular paper or glass filter. As I remember it's about 3.5-4" diameter and maybe 8" long. If you have one I'd love to have it.
Thanks

Hi,
Do you have any more pictures of your backhoe/loader? I have one that looks pretty close on my JD40 but it is made by Henry. The spool mounting / return hose on the loader is almost identical. I am trying to chase down parts for the hydraulic system but have run into dead ends. Mine has Gresen spools (901/900 casting) and a Gresen S-75 diverter for the backhoe / loader. The pump is still unknown and I have a Commercial Shearing & Stamping pressure relief valve #L6624K-2. There is a axial filter mounted horizontal on the suction side of the pump. It is about 4" diameter and about 12" long. Thanks.

If you are looking for help on this, I suggest you start a new post. As a new user, you likely won't be able to post pictures unless you go down to site comments and ask YT Support to allow you to post pictures (New users normally need 5 or more posts on record before the site spam filters let them post pictures). The folks here that use the Classic views only see your post, not the thread you are tagging onto, so it doesn't make much sense to them, and it is likely you won't get any helpful answers.
