Some times I have to run this on the two lane highway. Its about 4 ft. wider than one lane so I keep to the right when hauling the shoulder of the road is about 8 ft. wide I've been passed on double solid line, single solid line and on a dotted line when there is oncoming traffic. I run about 2 ft from the center line but people are in an awful hurry these days. I'm on this road for about a mile. Even been passed by a semi.on double solid. Can't seem to post the photos but they are in Tractor photos. The duals on the 4960 make it about 2 ft wider than the lane.

Are you able to get in the field to spread right now? I got some out Tuesday, but then it got too soft. I HAD to get some out yesterday and today. Pulled in the field with the first big load of liquid yesterday morning. The duals kept the tractor up,but the spreader went through the frost. I had to dump it right there. I backed in the edge of the field and dumped the rest of the day and 2 loads today, just out of despiration.

Know what you mean. I hauled a wagon load of beans to the mill yesterday. Got stuck yesterday afternoon just backing the empty wagon in the barn. No more of that until we get a couple of cold days!!

Had an incident here a couple years back. Farmer was in the habit of hauling loads down the road in NON-DAYLIGHT hours with a large but conventional rear discharge spreader. No lights, or even a SMV emblem, that I ever saw. (I suppose it would be tough to keep either clean and visible.) Anyway, he got tail-ended by some guy in a van. Van driver severely hurt. Last I heard, a serious large lawsuit was working it"s way thru the courts. MAKE SURE YOU"RE WELL LIT AND MARKED!

rr - Couple days ago, neighbor lady called - her car stuck in her driveway. Took the MF 180 down, man was she stuck! 6" of soup over frozen ground right in drive. I was lucky to get her out, even with that big a tractor. I easily outweighed her by double. Soon's I let out on the clutch, tractor was headed down. Once I got to frozen ground, no traction!

The tanker has flashers, signal lights and stop lights and a SMV sign. I still figure some idiot on a cell phone won't be able to see that big red thing. Years ago, there was an overpass just south of this guys place, and his Knight spreader was rearended. That problem was eliminated by the state removing the overpass.
