ANY ONE HIRING??

NOt Michigan, ESPECIALLY Montcalm, Muskegon counties. Employeers are afraid to let it out that they are hiring - they'll be mobbed - rioting in the streets! One agency had 120 jobs they had over 1000 applicants in Grand Rapids.

That is a lot better than it was around me for a position. There were 4800+ applicants for 20 entry level, outside year round refinery work. Granted it was located in the Bay Area of CA, but still.

You volunteering? Actually, I have a shearer already contacted - From Indiana, she has a regular route thru here, does several flocks. Do need some sheep catchers. You want to come over and help? First week in April!

I hate sheep and ya had to remind me that that time is coming up Again. Wish my buddy would get rid of them. And his wife is with me on this one . They get out this year and get into the garden there will be lambchops on the table.

not around here, i thank my lucky stars every morning when i fire up my pete to go to work, that i have some work, right now im running real hard, but its due to fema finally giving out some money to contractors so they can get some flood damage on the river fixed from almost a year ago, all that is supposed to be completed by the end of march, what happens then worries the crud out of me, over the last year our private delivery orders have dropped over 75 % people are scared and dont want to start new projects when they may need their money to buy food

My sister and her husband are plumbers out in Colorado, in the area around Aspen and Vail. While they've managed to stay busy for the past 5-6 years, when I spoke with her tonight she said that the only job they've had this week was one job on Monday that took 5-1/2 hours.

So apparently the rich have quit building in the resort areas, at least temporarily.

Pretty scarce here. Im starting to see a little pick up in the last month and with the storm damage there may be some clean up work. Something must be happening though. I sent an engine off to the machine shop and he had 8 racing engines sitting on the stands ready to go.

You don't state what your qualifications are so I assume you have none. There are no less than 50 Wal-Mart stores in the State of Massachusetts. I know this because I took 2 minutes to look. Addresses and telephone numbers are there for all to see. Although I would advise you to show up personally. At least that would be a place to start.

If you haven't paid your taxes, there's probably some openings in the President's cabinet. I understand Commerce Secretary is open again.

Saw on the news this AM that there were 1,400 applicants for ONE electric meter-reader job in Tacoma. I do still see "Taking Apps" signs on convenience stores, fast food, etc.

One thing usually not taken into account is the level of unemployment compensation (or "rockin' chair", as my dad used to call it) that many are getting. My secretary's husband lost his job, is getting $515 a week, which translates to $12.90 an hour. I asked if he'd found any temp work- She said, "Yeah- and that was a big mistake." He worked parts of 2 days, ended up with about 90 bucks after deducts and the temp outfit's cut, and they dropped his unemployment by over $200. Guess he won't make that mistake again. Also, combination of state and federal will get you payments for over a year as it stands right now, and talk of adding some more time on.

They're gonna have to drag some of these guys kicking and screaming back to the job site. . .

Let's see....first week of April. What's going on? Oh yea,calving,manure hauling,nope,I'm busy.

Sometimes you can't be fussy. You have to go to the work instead of the working coming to you.

Lots around here.
