This is the first morning above freezing sence the first of the yr. I think here in S.E.Indiana with about a ft. of snow and Ice to melt . Calling for 50s for a week and rain , no freezing over night . I`m sure not complaining about the warm up but the mud sure is hard on the cows . Get them rubber boots out !! Never did get much water in the creeks after a dry spell last summer , hard to tell what will come floating down out of the hills .

I grew up in SE OH and it was a ritual each spring that we had to put furniture on stilts and leave a couple of days because the river was about 2 feet deep in the house. Mud is mud, but river mud is the worst ever.

Hope everyone gets thru OK,

Dave

Yup sure is.

The temp is a welcome site here in Iowa but it will make for a muddy mess. But we have to get rid of the snow somtime and make the mess.

It was 45 here at 6am this morning. I will tolerate the mud because I have had enough of winter to last me a long time! I'm going to see if I can get to the pasture this morning and cut some tree branches that feel during the ice storm and maybe I can figure out what to do about the flood gap that washed away in early winter.

Exceptionally warm here yesterday. Central Kansas. Highs in the upper 70's. Lots of new records set. No mud here as we haven't had any appreciable moisture since December. Spread some dry fertilizer and disked some ground where I plan on putting oats. Supposed to be warm again today with a slight chance of moisture this week-end. Could use a little, but sure is nice for the cows with this dry ground and warm temps.

been Froze a while , Sloppy-time HERE WE GO ,last week 10 degrees , just before dark, Brothers F 250 quit , And he coasted into sloped super slick driveway of someone he knew... while tinkering with fuel filters THE TRUCK STARTED SLIPPING straight BACK OUT ON THE BUSY HIWAY ,ended up tailend blocking 4 ft of lane on a dangerous hill , It slid about 40 ft ,, I flagged traffic , while nephew and him tried to start the truck ,, they thought fuel gelled . NO GO . ended up towing it , AND PUTTING ANOTHER CRANK SENSOR on it to get it to run ..Makes me like my CUMMINS that much More !

Yep! Here comes the Mud Season! Over in west central IN we are not looking forward to the rain that is headed this way. River banks should be getting full from snowmelt and then the heavy rains will toss them out of the banks. I may be helping some friends move stuff out of their cabins on West Fork White River this weekend before it hits. They both got it bad last June and lost almost everything. One guy had water up to the front doorknob and the other guy had 6" in his place. Didn't seem to matter how much water as they both lost the same things and had to do the same kind of work tearing out soaked walls and insulation and carpeting, furniture, appliances etc. At least they both had wiring put in half way up the walls so didn't have to redo that. Hope the rains like they are talking about don't happen!

Snow is melting fast, mud season is here. At least for a week or so. It will be nice not to have to wade thru a foot of snow to cut firewood.
