How many old tractors still in use?

I"ve got no clue where to find this info, so I thought I"d throw it out here to the board. When I read about the old tractors still in use after half a century I wonder just how many antique tractors are still functional here in the US? I"ve got three myself, and they all work to one degree or another.

Anyone venture a guess as to how much antique iron is still running out there? (I"ll let y"all determine what age constitutes "antique".)

I doubt very many of our cars will still be running in 50 or 60 years.

I have a 1953 Massey Harris Colt, a 1952 Farmall
Super C and a 1967 434 International still doing a little work in Northern Ontario Canada.

Here's a start to the total: They built nearly a half million Farmall H's and all but about three are still plugging away. Then there's the half mil M's and Super M's and I guess they're all still earning their oats. I've got 16 old ones that do my 12,000 bales of hay each year-well 15 old ones and one kinda newish which is for sale.

I have a 1952 JD R that still pulls 5-10 acres when time permits. A 1952 MC JD on 10x62 grain auger. Also since you mentioned no cars and trucks older than 50 years still have a 1937 chevy. Just like they say "Built like a rock"

i have a cub, a farmall b, an h, 3 m's, a super m, a 240u, and a w-9, all still going, all still earning thier keep.
(going to an auction saturday, may pick up another m and a super mta if i'm lucky!!)

51 jda 43 jdb 54 jd70 with a 45w loader 49 dc case new holland 479 haybine dearborn 14-40 hay rake and an allis chalmers rotobaler make about 1000 bales a year for the better halfs horses plus a new holland 514 manure spreader also have a single bottom 16 inch mounted jd plow that gets put on the b to plow the garden and a food plot for the deere have a set of 12" jd tractor drags and an ihc steel wheeled grain drill jd #5 sickle bar everything works and gets used some more than others

When I retired way back in 02 I had 4 tractors on the sale. The oldest beng a 1939 M
setting under an F 10 Farmhand loader. It was used about the most followed by the 706 ger. deisel,the TO30 Ferguson and only if I absolutly had to the Farmall 300.

These two classics piled up a combined 190 hours this fall during harvest. The 4010 is a 1962 so it is rapidly approaching the 50 year mark. The 4520 would have gotten more hours but when the weather turned cold and muddy I opted for different tractor to pull wagons with.

My newest tractor is a 1985 model 584, I have a B250 , two H's and an M..the B250 is about 1963 0r 1964, I use it just about everyday, the H's I use in haying season, but this past summer I didn't use them much because of gasoline prices, the little diesel did a lot of raking and haying chores because it is cheap to operate, yep old tractors still earning their keep
M=1940
B250=1963
H=1943
H=1943
584=1985

1949 JD B, 1956 Farmall 200. Both in use around here. Up until last year, Deere pulled the baler (268 Hayliner & wagon). Has New Idea/Horn loader, and does loader jobs around the farm. Farmall has 2pt to 3 pt conversion, runs sickle bar mower, 3pt hay rake, other 3pt jobs. Until last year, plowed, disked. This year, pulled a binder for 7 acres of oats! (Now have a Massey Ferguson 1808to help with the heavier chores.)

All of my old tractors are 50+ years old except the 630 and it's only 49.

The JD 630 is the loader tractor used year-round, 51 A in top unrestored shape, 35 A runs great, 54 R runs great, 51 Oliver 88 restored and still used, 46 B Farmall mows a lot of grass, 48 SC Case just augered 20,000 bushels of corn without a whimper. Jim

1954 Farmall 100
1967 IH Cub
1953 Farmall Super C
The 100 gets the garden work.
The Cub mows the yard and helps out with the garden.
The Super C is under going a facelift at this time.
The newer tractors around here are nice but I still enjoy running my toys. (That's what my wife calls them.)

I have a 1941 JD A that is my loader/woodsplitter/snow plow tractor. I have a 1948 JD D and a 1944 JD B that are used for plowing, discing, planting, cutting wood, combining, etc. I also have a 1937 JD B that is restored but not painted and I'm using it on every job I can think of just to have fun with it!! A 1940 JD H and a 1948 Allis B are restored and just loafing around.

1946 Ford 2N, 1947 Farmall A, 1951 Oliver 77 Row Crop, 1983 Case 1194 and a 2005 Mahindra 7010 with cab.

As of right now, the newest farm tractor is a 1962 560 farmall with an F-11 loader. Next is a MM RTU ('46 or '47) followed by a 39 farmall H. Have a 530 case backhoe but I dont know the year. Guessing somewhere around 65-67ish. Back when we farmed we had 3 M's, 2 Super M's, the H, the Super H, 2 ford 8n's, AC WD45, IH w9, IH 560 w/ turbo, Ford 2000, and a MF 1135. Used them for haying mostly.

We've got a '50's vintage 440IC JD dozer that we use around the place and I know of many other pieces of heavy equipment, as well as cranes, from 30 to 40 years old and some on back beyond that still in regular use. In reality it would be hard to count them all.

Until I just got too overwhelmed with baling 40 acres by myself last year, I was using a '45 farmall, a JD 214t baler (50's) and a '68 Hesston self propelled windrower. I still have the tractor but sold the other two.

5 to-20 Ferguson's use at least one every day today was a big day used three. Massey 44 special and a Massey 33

1956 John Deere 620 - gets used the most of our 2 cylinder tractors
1957 John Deere 620
1941 John Deere model B - gets put on the auger once in a while or if we get in a pinch and need to use a few tractors at a time
1949 Oliver 77 - used on the feed cart

Well I feel better. I thought I had too many but it appears there are other nut cases out there!
1947 Cub
1948 Cub
1957 Oliver Super 55
1964 Massey Ferguson 97
1979 Massey Ferguson 245
1993 John Deere 870
I use the 245 for all of the hay work. The JD is the only one with a loader so it gets most of the other work. Hope my wife does not see the list!

I have 2 Fords 55 850 and 56 640. My next Younger brother has an early 4020,a side control 4020,a 4320, a 3020 and a 4400 combine. Youngest brother has a 2430 and 2950. Both of them are partial to John Deeres.

I don't have any old tractors. The only tractors I use are, 1954 AC WD-45 and a 1948 MH 44-6. Old tractors can be kind of hard to start in the winter.I'm getting lazy in my old age. Thats why I use the modern tractors.You know, electric start and all of that. My daughter has a 1930 C Case. But, we don't use that. We just ride it around in the summertime.

I have a 1938 F20 I use to rake with a 1940 H Farmall I luse to rake with and pull hay trailer, a Farmall 350 used to load hay with it has a loader and i use it to feed with in the winter and last but not least a Farmall 560 diesel used for mowing and pulling the round bailer with and plowing the garden and any other heavy work i need.

I farmed a quarter of dryland last year with a McCormick Deering WD-9
and a MM M670. We still use a '35 JD D once in a while to feed cows with. This year for farming I hope to have my MM GVI and G707 up and going...

1935 F-12, 1951 Farmall H, H is used a lot winter and summer bushogging, grading,plowing snow, skidding and loading logs, picking up engines or anything heavy or most any other uses, It also goes to shows. F-12 is used mostly in summer pulling firewood wagon or an occasional log to skid. Also have a 48 M but it is currently sitting with a sick engine, should be fixed this spring.

You can count me in for 10 tractors still doing work around our farm.
