This is what the shop looks like today. Pieces and parts everywhere. The 3010 with no steering system and the 4020 has no front end. The front axle came off easier than expected. There is a leaking seal up on the steering spindle.

After chores I took the starter off the 4020 and went to the dealer to get some parts. Anyone need a used combine? Thes pictures arent even half of their used combines. Seems like they are all big late model machines.
Maybe I can get to work on putting things back together tomorrow. Just waiting for the warm weather so I can get outside and do a couple projects. How is everybody else getting along?

Is your 4020 a power shift, what state do you live in???we traded our 4020 in about 30 yrs. ago. Trying to track it down for nastalga reasons thanks.

It is a powershift, a late 71. I'm in IL. Bought it at a consignment auction and it must be from the south somewhere. It had no block heater, no ether assist, and it had pure water in the rear tires.
I made those legs when I was working on the steering of a 720 a few years ago and they sure have been handy on a number of projects since.

The combines? Nope. They are all trade ins. Neff company in Avon IL. They move alot of iron, big iron. I'll be back over there tomorrow maybe I can try to get a picture of the whole lot.

boy you got a nice shop. i got my 4010 tore apart to fix the PTO. the little tiny pin for the 540 pto broke. have to split the tractor at the tranny and pull the whole PTO shaft out just to do that. ain"t too bad though.also gota get all the lights working again. right fender lights don"t work. i suspect its a wiring issue still workin" on the 720 but i now have all the walls in the shop insulated so it makes work a lot easier. thanks fer the great pics bill

Bill,

Very nice pics, thanks for posting! I like your legs for the 4020! Also an impressive lot of combines.

Of course. We always have to shoot the bull. He was working on a portable kerosene heater of all things. I guess nobody else had time. A walk around the shop at deere crossing is always interesting. That is a great bunch of guys down there. In fact Neff co. as a whole is a great group of people. So much better than our other options around here.
