Thanks for deleting my post on gun control!!!

I was only trying to inform people on what is coming because most of the people on here probably own a gun or two. This was the last straw for this website. It has gone downhill over the past two years and many good people have left. This will be my last visit here. I wish all of you well and please pay attention to what is going on in Washington, some of us still care!!
 
Yep, I think that the person that runs this site can get real ornery about the subjects.

I have seen (and made) off topic posts that didnt get deleted and were farther off base from tractors then gun control.

Maybe it should be posted in the "Tractor Tales" Forum.

Here is the listing of the forums, according to this site.

Tractor Talk = A general discussion group focusing on any theme related to tractors.

Tractor Tales = An area for for people who share an interest in old tractors to have casual conversation, tractor related or not.

I would think that all this off topic stuff can go there without the deletion, (well, without most of it) and people just need to get used to checking that forum as well as the Tractor Talk one...
 
What Forum do informative "directory posts" such as your's fit in?

Funny, you guys P,B&M about the space taken by "OT" posts" then make dozens of posts in reply to the "OT" posts! HEY, they take space as well, and you guys seem to think the 'net is about out of space!

Don't bother with the flaming, I've got my fire-resistant "tighty whiteys" on and am heading out to do a little REAL work!
 
I guess the posts about the sappy old westerns must be a LOT more ON-topic than gun control!
 
Funny....There's about a million topics a day in the TRACTOR section that start off with O/T and have nothing to do with tractors. Nice try though.

I havent ever made a complaint about any of the OT posts here. Ncdiesel was unhappy his post got deleted, so I was just posting an idea back that might prevent posts such as his from getting deleted.

I never said it should or shouldnt have been removed, since I know lots of folks here may have a vested interest in gun control topics.

Just trying to be helpful.

The owners of this site can do as they please because they own it.You dont.There are several forums on the internet that you can post on about guns.

This place is mostly about tractors.Guns,religion, and politics cause too many heated discussions.
 
First of all, I dont buy into the hype of the government or police taking peoples guns.
And second of all, I dont own a gun but I do have a bunch of Case tractors and related things. thanks for your concern.
 
There are specific tractor type forums according to this site, maybe the whiners could go to their respective corners.
Why didn't you list those and why is this the forum for a Ford or Massey question?
 
I think what posts get deleted depends on the language and whether the moderator has looked at it. She doesn't spend all day just surfing this site. It's probably a part time job, done at home. If the topic is off the 1st page, exhausted itself, she won't care. If somebody complains, she probably is forced to do something. Basically, a lot of idiots with agendas say things they couldn't say in person. Keyboard commandos?

The beauty of the internet is that if you don't like posting on this site, you can post somewhere else. While I am an ardent supporter of the second amendment, this is supposed to be a tractor related site and the owners can regulate it as they wish.
 
You have absolutely no class. If you don't like the owner of this sites rules, go play in somebody elses sandbox. Who do you think you are talking about this lady that way? So did your preacher get up and instead of giving a sermon, go into a presentation on gun rights? I doubt it because that is not the medium for that type of discussion, you know kind of like this isn't the place for it all the time either. You have acted like a spoiled brat and owe this young lady an apology.
 
I do not know the owner of this site, and I doubt the poster who called her such names does either. Vulgar name calling is absolutely un called for. A true supporter of the second amendment and the rest of the Constitution should have enough sense to respect the rights of the owners of a private enterprise to manage it as they wish.

i agree with you Lanse 100 persent BUT IF FOR ONE MINUTE i thought it was deleted because YT was anti-gun ,against my and YOUR legal right through the second amendment to own guns and not because of the content of the post i would NEVER EVER purchase another thing from them. but being it got deleted and i didnt even get to read it :D i dont know so untill i know for sure i will keep buying

Haven't you ever heard that a customer that bitches about the service actually wants to remain a customer? The ones that don't will just go away quietly and never come back.

I don't know what you posted that was deemed inappropriate, but I am sorry to see you go. I would also suggest that you think on this a while and reconsider.

Sometimes, I will also post on gun related threads. The freedoms declared in our Bill of Rights are shamefully disregarded these days. The average citizen is completely ignorant and/or indifferent of what our ancestors gave us. These freedoms include rights to private property. {this forum} But, if at any time, I get the opinion this forum supports these indifferences, I will join you. Especially when I see obvious leftist oriented posts allowed to stand. This is not a threat. This is not an attempt to sway any "powers that be" here. Think of it as freedom of association.

When I read the posts here, I often think of my dad and grandpa. {Riding a tractor with them as they taught me various things} This site is named "Yesterday's Tractors". Yesterday's tractors were designed, built, marketed, bought, worked, serviced, and worn out by Americans with yesterday's values, work ethics, creeds, and dreams. The tractors of yesterday may be obsolete. I pray the dreams they are associated with are not.

I have enjoyed YT for 10 years, donated cash and bought parts from them but if the decision to delete the thread was based on ncdiesel48's initial post and providing the link, I am out out here too.

If i do not care for the topic of a post i simply skip over it i find tractor talk to be more & more about politics and every other OT subject
simple way to solve all the bitching is to keep tractor talk about tractors and post the politics etc on a board geared to that discussion

I think the owners are trying to clean up the site and get it back to tractors. It needed it to. So they have my blessing while doing that.

That statement just shows how ignorant you are is all. Guns already have been confiscated in countries that said the same thing. Guns have been confiscated here too. You should really pay more attention.

Another gun owner's view here. I believe the title of this forum is "Tractor Talk Discussion Board. There hasnt been much "tractor talk" on it lately and i'm sure the owners of the site see that. Sooooo, if you want to talk about guns, i suggest you go to a "Gun Discussion Board". But since you've sworn off this site, hopefully thats what you've done.
 
The reality of the situation is, Mr. Moo, that most tractor people don't live in a total vaccum. It's usually the abundant whiners who get all wadded up about OT posts.

BUT if this forum is going to allow OT subjects, then they should allow postings about guns.
Now I realize that this is Kims board and thats fine and dandy.
However if you have a tractor, chances are that you live in a rural area or maybe even the suburbs. A good percentage of people that live in a rural area or the suburbs own firearms.
I dont see the stretch between the two.
I've been to quite a few 'big' cities and have never come across a tractor parked a a parking meter or in a parking garage !
Its really no different than a title such as -

Guess what there are sites on the internet that deal with well problems !! Maybe that should be posted there and not here !!

I didn't see your post, and I don't have a problem with OT posts as long as they are civil and folks respond to them civilly. HOWEVER, it clearly says "no political posts", etc. when you post here. Political posts, regardless of their position, are fair game for deletion. You post here, you take your chances.

I am sorry to see you go and I agree that this website has gone down hill. But in my opinion it is because of topics like these. I am very interested in politics as well but this forum is tractor talk. There is a politics forum for topics like these. I have seen a lot of good people go on this forum. Anyone remember Nebraska Cowman? Or more recently Old. I have stopped viewing this forum as often as I used to. Sorry for the rant, just sayin what I been thinkin for a while.
